Here my picture of one of my favorite lakes deep into the wild nature of Switzerland's mountains which I visited 3 months ago.
Lake Ngaroto, home to a range of water-loving plants and animals, is one of the best places in the Waikato to experience natural wetland. A 90-minute walk around the lake includes regular signs with information and illustrations about the local ecology.

Lake Moraine is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, and it is the most spectacular lake, in the valley of 10 peaks, seen in my life. Hike up the Rock Pile for an alternative view of these turquoise waters and the nearby Tower of Babel.

Lake Forggen is Germanys greatest water reservoir. Every year during winter season it is drained. This is the view over the drained lake at Castle Neuschwanstein (between the two Mountains). You can walk on the traces of the little village Forggen which was flooded by the lake
It was a cold, damp day at the lake. Looks like most of the boats are out of the water for the winter
Lake Skadar romanized: Skadarsko jezero, pronounced [skâdarskɔː jɛ̂zɛrɔ]; Albanian: Liqeni i Shkodrës, pronounced [liˈcɛni i ˈʃkɔdrəs]) – also called Lake Scutari, Lake Shkodër and Lake Shkodra – lies on the border of Albania and Montenegro, and is the largest lake in Southern Europe. It is named after the city of Shkodër in northern Albania (Albanian: Shkodër or Shkodra; Serbo-Croatian: Скадар, romanized: Skadar; Italian: Scutari). It is a karst lake.
Lake Josephine is a little lake just west of Swiftcurrant lake Near Swiftcurrent, Montana at Many Glacier. This amazing hike along the north shore (15kms) of Lake Josephine not only gives you fantastic views, but also brings you untouched nature, just a bit scary of bears, even with bears spray and music on during the hiking. Keep an eye out for moose at the head of the lake and mountain goats, bighorn sheep and the occasional bear in the hillside above…
Peyto Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It can be best viewed from the Bow Summit along the Columbia Icefields Parkway. The lake gets its colors from the large amounts of glacier rock flour that flow into it during the summer months. The color varies depending on the season and even with the time of day. The viewing platform overlooks the lake and surrounding mountain valley. You have to walk up the hill. It is a 3.8-mile round trip hike. There is part of the hills that are steep and slippery. But it is well worth the strenuous climb.
Have a healthy and safe weekend my dear Flickr friends!

The Menindee Lakes is a chain of shallow ephemeral freshwater lakes connected to the Darling River to form a storage system. The lakes lie in the far west region of New South Wales, Australia, near the town of Menindee.
The Menindee Lakes Water Storage Scheme supplies water to Broken Hill, the lower Darling and to water users along the Murray River in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia under the Murray-Darling Basin Agreement. Seven of the lakes have been incorporated in an artificially regulated overflow system providing both for flood mitigation and as storage for domestic use, livestock and irrigation downstream. The lakes are also important for waterbirds.
As the rain started to lift, the cloud line framed the island and its church on lake Bled, Slovenia beautifully.
When I got to the lake it was bitterly cold. But then the sun came. The landscape shone and I felt the warmth of the rays on my cheeks.
Besides me there were two other photographers at the lake. One filmed himself at work - the other had a huge telephoto mounted and was possibly looking for birds. We didn't speak - but I'd love to see their pictures.
Laguna de Huaypo is a picturesque lake surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Sacred Valley as well as the rural Andean countryside.

Judarn is the name of a small lake in Bromma, a western suburb to Stockholm, Sweden. Surrounded by the forest and nature reserve Judarskogen, it stretches between Åkeshov and Södra Ängby. Three other lakes are found nearby: Kyrksjön, Lillsjön, and Råcksta Träsk. The name is etymologically associated to ljuda, the verb "to sound".
