Daughter and I went to Fuji direction.

Although the weather forecast was sunny all day every day, and was able to see Mount Fuji twice, it was only 30 minutes each.

In front of the object are boats that has been fried to shore past summer.

夕方に訪れ、近日中に違う時間帯にもう一度撮りたいなーと思いました。

富士山は恥ずかしがって翌日からしばらく顔を隠してしまいました。

I visited in the evening and thought that I would like to shoot again at another time in the near future.

Mt. Fuji was embarrassed and hid her face for a while from the next day.

Have a wonderful day!

Fuji-san, the mighty, the sacred, the eternally mysterious - central to the identity of Japan and her people.

For me, a pilgrimage of sorts; to finally stand before this most beautiful of natural wonders, a deeply moving 24 hours in my life.

Fuji-san leaves one breathless and bewildered. Parting earth and sky with remarkable symmetry, its beauty beyond description in text or letter; no poem powerful enough to create the emotion in one's heart and mind upon seeing for the first time, in person and close at hand.

Here is Fuji-san with Lake Kawaguchiko as the sun slowly disappeared and night began to fall. This wonderful view was enjoyed from our balcony with its own private onsen, at the hotel Kukuna. Highly recommended.

Mount Fuji is an active stratovolcano and the tallest mountain in Japan, standing at 3,776 m.

Lake Kawaguchiko, Japan

This was our annual family trip—full of compromises and a whirlwind itinerary. I knew Lake Kawaguchiko would offer some of the best photographic moments, but we had less than 24 hours to spare. The rain forecast had loomed for days, and when we arrived by train, it poured harder than I’ve seen in years.

With nowhere else to go, we checked into our hotel and wandered through nearby museums. Then, as if on cue, the clouds began to lift. I headed straight to Arakurayama Sengen Park, hoping for a glimpse of Chureito Pagoda with Mount Fuji behind it.

Just as I arrived, the sun broke through. Mount Fuji emerged through the haze, and golden light touched the pagoda’s edges. It wasn’t a perfect sky, but the atmosphere was unforgettable—quiet, fleeting, surreal. I chose to leave the wire/electrical cables visible in the photo. I had seen so many images where it had been edited out, I didn’t even know it existed until I stood there myself. Now that I’ve seen it in person, I wanted to keep it in—to remind myself and others that this detail is part of reality.

The forecast had called for clouds, but I woke up at 4 anyway. When I looked out from my hotel window, the tip of Mount Fuji was already visible — clear and silent in the pre-dawn haze.

I quickly dressed and rushed outside, knowing I was probably ten minutes too late to reach a cleaner, unobstructed vantage point. I didn’t expect to see Fuji’s elusive reflection either, so I settled for a spot just in front of the hotel.

And that’s when my Arca-Swiss ballhead screw jammed — for the first time ever. As the sky began to open up, the reflection suddenly emerged, just for a moment. I scrambled, fought with my gear, and managed to fire off a few rushed, imperfect frames.

They weren’t perfect. But they held the truth of that morning — chaotic, fleeting, and quiet — exactly as it happened.

I still can’t believe that nearly 75% of the images I captured during this Japan trip were taken with my iPhone — not counting the few hundred frames I shot of the deer in Nara Park. I’ve always known the iPhone performs well in daylight, producing clean and balanced images. But what really surprised me this time was how Halide’s ProRAW + Depth capture allowed me to recover an unexpected sense of spatial depth — especially in the distant silhouette of Mount Fuji.

During post-processing, the layering between the foreground reeds, the lake, and the mountain felt remarkably natural, with each zone responding distinctly. It wasn’t just sharpness — it was that quiet, dimensional presence that made the scene feel real.

Lake kawaguchiko Travel to the popular MT.Fuji jan. But I could not see it that day. I'm not really lucky.

The photo was taken in Kawaguchiko-machi, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. The lake is called Kawaguchi-ko, which is one of the five lakes around Mt Fuji. Unfortunately, Mt Fuji was covered by thick clouds and I could not get it in this photo.
