I had a get a fix in recently of sunset over Lake Crabtree.

I was out yesterday morning to catch the fog and water dew on spiderwebs at Lake Crabtree. While out this butterfly caught my eye. If you look closely, you can see morning-dew on it's wings. Also check out the spider web at the background.

A new handicapped dock was installed at Lake Crabtree for boaters! A pretty addition on this reflective evening.
I hope to see these kind of skies soon as the Hurricane Matthew clouds are starting to drift in. I guess our golf weekend in Myrtle Beach will have to wait until another time.

I hope you get a chance to visit Lake Crabtree on your way to the Outer Banks Trev. There are four or five bald eagles this Fall and a few migrating egrets and always herons.

Dawn this morning had a light fog and among it was a flock of Canadian geese. Not sure if they are locals who stay year round or migrating ones but regardless it was nice watching them.

I got a chance to watch sunrise at Lake Crabtree before the hot temperatures made the day uncomfortable. It appears the storms we are having now will bring lower temperatures next week. Have a great weekend my friends and stay safe and be well.

I could not help to think about the calm morning thirteen years ago tomorrow when all those innocent lives were lost on 9/11 and how precious life is as I walked around the lake. Do something nice for yourself and family for we never know if it is our last act. Blessings to all those who are suffering. Driving back home from a walk late Saturday afternoon, I had a hunch there was going to be a fantastic sunset, so I stopped by Lake Crabtree to capture the magic. Wow, it was a spectacular one. Such a lovely gift from Mother Nature. I love living in North Carolina.
Going through some of my older photos, I found this one I had forgotten. The beautiful sun setting was reflecting on the reeds at the edge of Lake Crabtree. There are a few moments after sunset that I call the 'sweet spot' as the light is so rich.
Ah love is in the air!!! I am guilty of feeding the bluebirds year round! This is not at one of my four bluebird boxes but at Lake Crabtree where I enjoy walking. Have a great weekend my friends! ~Sam
