Medicine Lake is located within Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately 20 km southeast of the townsite of Jasper, Alberta. Medicine Lake is approximately 7 km long and is a relatively shallow lake.

Sunset in the aspen parkland region at Islet Lake. It is a small lake in the Blackfoot Grazing and Recreation Reserve east of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The area is a mix of aspen forest, spruce forest, small wetlands and assorted small lakes and intermittent pastureland.

I was out there with a small group of photographers participating in a night photography course where we were hoping for clear skies to photograph the stars and possibly some northern lights.

Our weather is starting to look more positive, which means road trips to places like this beautiful lake are doable again.

Photographed in the Medicine Bow Range in southern Wyoming,

Yes, it really is named Blue Lake. Mt. Hood is in the background. I live really close to it and walk here almost every day. I took this last Sunday, it was unusually warm for this time of year and no wind at all to move the water. It made a great mirror.

I think this is Moosehead Lake, I will double check.

Have a beautiful new week everyone!!

I would like to say out of camera shot but i did coax the patterns in the lake out with some contrast help from Light Room. Slight wind from the north made for zigs and zags in the reflections across the lake as this fishing boat cut through the patterns.

A view of Lake Louise from the bridge over the outlet on a bright autumn morning.

"Lake Louise is named after the Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848–1939), the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of the Marquess of Lorne, who was the Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.

The province of Alberta in Canada is named after her as well. Although the name "Louise" was originally planned for the province the Princess wished to honour her dead father, so her last name was chosen instead." wiki

Calling the province Louise would take some getting used to....Alberta seems to fit better IMHO.

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

Soooooooo beautiful lake who called Hallstätter See.... It is named after Hallstatt, a small market town in Austria, famous for its salt mining since prehistoric times and the starting point of the world's oldest and still working industrial pipeline. #mountains#lake#hallstatt#austria#water#landscape#clouds#snow#winter#travel#nature

I've been to these lakes numerous times now and it's where I saw my first wild moose. However, nothing prepared me for what happened after taking this shot on Friday! A Grizzly bear walked behind me and entered the water 15m to my left. First time I was aware of him was when I heard the splash!! Very scary but a moment I will never forget!

Never processed until now.

Tasmania is brimming with so many places of natural beauty. This little gem is Dove Lake, which I have been lucky enough to visit twice now. I asked Chat GPT to tell me about it and here is what it said:

Dove Lake Walk, located in the stunning Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park in Tasmania, is considered one of Australia's most beautiful nature walks. It offers a 6-kilometer, 2–3-hour circuit around the glacially carved Dove Lake, nestled directly beneath the towering Cradle Mountain.

The walk takes hikers on a journey through diverse landscapes. As you navigate the undulating path, the walk offers both intimate and epic views of Cradle Mountain and immerses you in the surrounding vegetation. The track undulates around Dove Lake, traverses beneath the mountain, then returns through magnificent rainforest taking you through some of Tasmania's special vegetation, from buttongrass to myrtle, sassafras, fagus and King Billy pine.

Sound tempting? I must correct the narrative though, taking a camera with you extends the time from 2-3 hours to "how long am I allowed to spend taking photos before my companions leave without me"
