From a photo I took on my first trip to NYC a few years ago.

AG

Happy Macro Monday !

Statue of Liberty, grandest gift from the people of France to celebrate the United States Centennial. For over 100 yrs, she was the first sight of Freedom for all who traveled to America prior to commercialization aviation. She as always gracefully stands in the narrows a sight of freedom.

Be brave, Lady Liberty….

May God bless America, and have a blessed Independence Day!

La Liberté éclairant le monde, the goddess of liberty has been standing on Liberty Island enlightening the world since 1886. With the exception of not stepping up sooner when German leadership lost their minds in the late 1930's and not fishing or cutting bait in Vietnam I've been proud to live here, I still believe our constitution is an example of how laws not men rule the world, until now. I'll skip the rhetoric and or debate and just say that I can not wait for our current administration to be gone. I just hope we still have something left when they are done mucking it up. He's an outright embarrassment.

New York & Jersey city sunset

Dusk is falling on Lady Liberty, her back turned to the camera and contemplating a mystic moon rising above the clouds. I was able to get this moonrise shot during the golden hour at Liberty State Park, taking advantage of the late sunlight. The glowing Lady Liberty at sunset, juxtaposing against the faded moon rising in the background, made it for a more dramatic composition.

Never forget those who lost their lives.

My disgruntled nephew . . . .

giving his best tribute to Lady Liberty.

Shot from the top of the World Trade Center, NYC.

Signorita Libertad, another classic Edwardo Korba wall mural. Lower Manhattan.

Possibly the best FITS (feet in the shot) photo I will ever take! A perfect day for a helicopter ride!

From the Statue of Liberty to this 101 year old coin she represents the ideal the USA should strive for. Although I have to admit the cynical side of me is thinking the dollar is what really defines my nation. HMM and thanks for your views, faves and comments.

This is the view from my window on an icy cold and windy November day. A Sunday empty street

Irgendwo soll es auch noch eine protzige Kopie geben

On the day our country finally found out who our next President is, this was the best place to visit while in NYC.

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbor, in Manhattan, New York City. It was a gift from France to New York and was delivered in 350 pieces and completed in October 1886. She stands tall as a symbol of democracy and liberty. Print Size 13x19 inches.
