Lara has become part of our family for some time now... We found her abandoned in the streets and she was in a very bad shape... I cannot believe there are people that do this to animals! Those people don't deserve even the oxygen they breathe!..
Since we adopted her she has become a totally different dog. She is now very happy and very good friends with Lucky! Of course she is always with us where ever we go!
Lara has a family now! She is an adorable dog and we do our best to make her feel happy!
So here she is! I present you Lady Lara!

An Australian painted lady, Vanessa kershawi, feeding on the Jervis Bay Grevillea, Grevillea macleayana, at Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay, Australia.
The markings of the Australian painted lady are similar to the Northern Hemisphere painted lady, Vanessa cardui.
Thanks for visiting. I am very grateful for the very kind comments and faves which have been left.
Have a wonderful week!
The Iron Lady is the most common nickname for the Eiffel Tower.
While the name, the “Eiffel Tower”, entered the common language at the time of its inauguration, its female nature appeared more gradually over the 20th century. Of course, it can be traced back to the fact that the noun “tour” or tower in French is feminine. And if we add a bit of anthropomorphism, we can see that the monument’s four pillars, also known as legs or feet, are covered with a lacy “skirt”, from the mesh structure enhanced with fine decorative arches between the pillars.
As a symbol of the arrival of iron, industry and science, the Eiffel Tower can also be seen to be in an atypical conversation with another lady of Paris, her Gothic older sister and symbol of religion, Notre-Dame.
In the 1930s, when the Tower was nearing 50 years old, various nicknames flourished in the press and publications: “the Tall Lady”, “the Tall Beautiful Lady”, then “the Tall Iron Lady”, sometimes, remarking on her age, it was “the Old Iron Lady”... However, it was simply “the Iron Lady” which stuck and was picked up particularly by the press.

This gorgeous lady blue posed beautifully for a while showing off her beautifully intricate patterning.
I don't want summer to end without posting a butterfly. Here is a Painted Lady, and as you can see it was well aware that I was taking its photograph. How lucky we are to be able to observe with our macro lens their tiny lives.
Butterflies have been the inspiration of so many fairy tales and fantastic stories, and there are so many more things that I can say about them, but for now I'm going to stop there :)
Something interesting about this butterfly:

Photography is one of my passions, and nature photography is my favorite.
I have been in Explore for more that a hundred times, and it is an awesome experience to have your photos showcased in such a special way.
I thank your for coming today, for leaving a comment, and make a favorite of yours this photo, (if that is the case) thanks again!
The best part of this forum is the contacts and friends that I have made over the years, that have the same passion for this art that is called photography!
Martha.
Sarakiniko beach in the island of Milos is a volcanic location that attracts many influencers. The lady in red was posing for another photographer early in the day. I took this image at 105mm from the opposite side of the rocky beach.
An Aurelian lily, which is a hybrid of Lilium henryi and a trumpet lily. Of the five bulbs we planted this spring, three survived attacks by the resident squirrel, and only one produced flowers that opened fully. It is pretty enough that I will leave them in the ground and hope they do better next summer.
Happy Flower Power Friday! Take care and stay safe. Thanks for stopping by and for all of your support -- I deeply appreciate it.
