I was traveling last week and had no chance to take photos and the weather today was cloudy and a bit foggy. This time I decided to not move myself above the clouds but make the best out of it - took me, my camera and tripod and went to the Berger Lacke that has high water because the snow had melted in the rain. Good for me - much more water and some additional options for interesting reflections...

Ich war letzte Woche wieder unterwegs und hatte keine Zeit zum Fotografieren and das Wetter war heute bewölkt und ein bisschen neblig. Dieses Mal habe ich beschlossen, mich nicht oberhalb der Wolken zu begeben, aber das Beste daraus zu machen - nahm mich, meine Kamera und Stativ und ging zur Berger Lacke, die aufgrund der Schneeschmelze hier und Regen ziemliches Hochwasser führte. Gut für mich - mehr Wasser und einige zusätzliche Optionen für interessante Spiegelungen...

Sometimes I am a lazy photographer and especially if I have a heavy loaded photo back pack with me and the underground is wet and dirty - then I just rotate my tripod including my camera by 180 degree, switch the settings to 5 seconds automatic release...and take a photo near the ground...I then control the shot and perspective and if necessary I take another couple of shots. The image is upside-down...but who cares - the raw converter takes care or you just rotate it manually...
...and it is really gentle for your knees as well :-)
When I saw the result - I decided to just let it as it is...
Manchmal bin ich ein fauler Fotograf und vor allem, wenn ich einen schwerbeladenen Foto-Rucksack mit mir habe und der Untergrund nass und dreckig ist - dann drehe ich einfach mein Stativ inklusive Kamera um 180 Grad, schalte den Selbstauslöser auf 5 Sekunden. .und mache ein Foto direkt über dem Boden... Ich kontrolliere dann den Schuss und die Perspektive und wenn nötig, mache ich noch ein paar Aufnahmen. Das Bild steht zwar auf dem Kopf ... aber wen interessiert das - der Raw-Konverter kümmert sich darum oder man dreht es einfach manuell ...
...und es ist auch sehr schonend für die Knie :-)
Als ich mir das Ergebnis angeschaut habe, beschloss ich, es einfach so zu lassen, wie es ist ...

It's also called Stari Grad and in German Wildlacke, which is the direct translation of the Slovenian name. The castle was erected in the woods high above the Škofja Loka town, very likely already in the 11th century, for sure in the 12th century. By legends it was the seat of robber knights. In the 14th century a lot was invested into renovation, but already after the heavy earthquake of 1511 it was abandoned. I guess the ruins have still not been fully explored. So, the treasure and the snake which can become princess are still waiting the brave man.
