OMG! What a darling Pearl is!
We had a fantastic first night.
The apt. kitchen has an archway to the dining area, and we have it blocked off with a puppy gate.
Last night I set up an air mattress in the dining room right on the other side of the gate.
During the night when she started to whimper, I let her come and snuggle with me.
She slept in the pit of my belly most of the night.
Normally, if I had been in my house, I would have put her in my kitchen, and if she had cried I would have come to reassure her, but not taken her out...she is going to have to learn how to sleep on her own.
My problem here is that the guy that lives in the apt. underneath of us works shift work, and I don't want her whining and barking to disturb him..
Miss Pearl is going to be VERY spoiled I'm afraid, but who could say "no" to that little face I ask you?
Beautiful Bella in one of her quiet moments. Anyone with a young dog knows that these are well appreciated!
Sam (right) shared a cool stick he found with his brother Lee & sister Rosie (middle). We met from two sides of the state to get these 6 month olds together. They had a blast. It was hard to tell them apart at times.
So far it's been an absolutely wonderful first trip to the shore with Pearl.
We've spent the last two mornings sitting on a bench on the boardwalk overlooking the dog park (it was a total zoo inside the park and dogs were going crazy....not the environment I wanted to take my 6 month old crazy puppy into!)
She was in heaven just sitting next to me and getting random attention from people passing by....and it was good practice for her to learn not to be too excitable and jump up when meeting somebody new. She caught on pretty quickly.
Today we walked around to a farmers market/craft show, and again she behaved herself admirably. I was very proud of her.
I think this is going to be the first of very many happy summers together down at the beach!
I liked this picture of Pearl and I in the sparkly sunlight that Larry took.
Dreaming about Mama. This is my friend's new puppy. When she invited us over for dinner, I couldn't decide what I was looking forward to most: the fabulous company, her incredible cooking or the new puppy.
ALL were perfect.
R isn't allowed to be loose in the house for at least 8 weeks post-surgery. You can see his tether under Shyla's chin. Shyla chooses to snuggle with him in his tethered spot almost all the time. So sweet.
