Labour Day Weekend 2015

I'm off again. For a few weeks. The silver lining to Covid has been how much we've been able to get away this year. I'll catch up with all of you fabulous people when I get back.

PS...we are off with our trailer in nature. Keeping a very safe distance from any humans :)

Labour Day in Canada is celebrated on the first Monday of September and it is a federal statutory holiday. It is also observed in the United States on the same day.

This holiday officially celebrates workers and the labour union movement, however, most of us only think of it as the last long weekend of the summer, [...].

Many seasonal attractions and vendors close after the labour day long weekend and it is generally the start of the fall shoulder season for tourist attractions. [...].

The Tuesday day after labour day marks the first day of school.

Note: In the Commonwealth Countries it is spelled "labour", in the United States is spelled "labor".

My daughter flanked in the pool by two long-time friends. Fantastic weather this Labour Day weekend... A great way to end summer vacation!

Point-And-Shoots are the new big thing in photography, right? So how about one that doesn't have the same draw like the others that seem to gather big bucks? But when it comes to cheap and cheerful you can't go wrong with an Espio 115M, while basic in operation, the optics on the 115M are mind-blowingly sharp!

Take it easy and relax. Fall is approaching and do as this little guy is doing; RELAXING on my packed clothing tub! I bought this teddy bear for a close friend as she has helped me so much in our new apt. in Montreal. She loved it; donations from purchase go to a charity. The bag in the back I gave her also for her recent trip.

This is a location that I have photographed in every season for over a decade. There were 2 people on the bench and they had thrown bread for the wildlife. (I don't approve of doing that). These swans had 3 'teenage' cygnets, I am hoping that these were the ones I usuall see, and that the swans with only 1 cygnet I photographed last week were a different family. The motorboat with its holidaymakers was unnecessarily loud !

Eastman High Contrast Positive 5363 is designed to create those titles you see on motion pictures, and the one film in this particular series of reviews that I could write a full report on but that's old news for the blog, however, I did want to have one more go using Pyrocat-HD, the results are well interesting.

The review drops in November!

Having a heat wave on this long weekend's unofficial end of summer, seems a fitting tribute as the last of the day's light catches these teenagers trying to keep cool.

This is the long weekend - Labour Day Weekend, we went to the HTO Park and Harbourfront today. A perfect day! Explore #387 on September 6, 2009

HTO is an urban beach in Toronto, Canada, that opened in 2007. It is located minutes away west of Harbourfront Centre, on Lake Ontario.

This park incorporates elements of a park, beach, and golf course. The park's standout feature is a sandpit that holds Muskoka chairs and enormous fixed yellow metal umbrellas. The umbrellas were designed to evoke the Georges Seurat painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.[1] Small shower setups allow you to wash off sand from your feet. Large, well maintained grass islands are separated by circular pathways ideal for cyclists, while tall grasses blow in the wind. At night, the park has LED lights illuminate the knolls.

Firstly, a big apology for not updating in so long and a big thank you to all the wonderful people who kept asking how I was going. :-)

Nothing has been wrong or anything dramatic like that, I've just had other things that needed my full attention. I've been avoiding any forms of procrastination in order to get things done. That's all.

So here's the first batch of a bunch of photos that I've been taking since my last upload.
