I label everything with pictures that I allow the students to access. Other items are labeled with just words to help me remember where I tucked things away.
BOX DATE: 2009
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
MISSING ITEMS: 2 pairs shoes, bouquet, tiara, dress, shirt
PERSONAL FUN FACT: Both of these items were rescued from a local charity store during the fall of 2017. Colleen and I stopped in one afternoon on our way home from my dentist appointment. That day, we found hoards of Barbie/other doll stuff in chaotic heaps, strewn across the toy room of this store. There are marked containers in the toy room, which designate what toys go where, and yet the labels were entirely pointless, as there were dolls everywhere, including in the "dress up clothes" bin. I don't know whether the employees were careless about organization, or if perhaps children had a blast tearing apart the toy room, but either way it was pure chaos. Colleen and I spent an obscene amount of time sorting through the various dolls, clothes, and accessories, looking for goodies. Random clothing was bagged and priced, but the vast majority of it was loosely floating around containers, or was on the floor. So we took it upon ourselves to round up a handful of items, and we placed them in one of the bags...how this store expected to sell anything with such disorganization, I do not know. I found both of these scraps in the heaps of doll stuff. I already owned a pair of duplicated sliver leggings (which I don't remember their origin), but I knew a second pair would come in handy. I also had a hunch that this dress went to a fashion pack I already owned pieces to, so I put it on my African American 1990 Fashion Play Barbie, who I also purchased that day!
Take care of your feet. Wear rubber boots in wet conditions.
