I saw this calligraphy inside Kuri, the main building, of the Ryoanji Temple (龍安寺 or 竜安寺, Ryōanji), Kyoto, Japan. I asked for help for the translation and my dear friend Carol aka 奇芍 told me that these are all Chinese characters.
She wrote: "In Japanese, there are some adopted Chinese characters in it so that I can read them, nonetheless, with the fancy style, not too easy to read; all I can say is that they're related to ZEN teaching. I'm positive about it."
I got also further information from her about these adopted Chinese characters:
"''Prior to the 3rd century, Japanese had no writing system. China, on the other hand, already had a civilization advanced past its time, with a well-established writing system of characters, called Hanzi. The Japanese decided to borrow Chinese characters as a way to give their language a written form. The problem was, Chinese and Japanese are very different languages. Chinese, for example, does not have tense or conjugation. Japanese, on the other hand, has myriad conjugations of its verbs that can express different tenses, moods, and level of formality. To add insult to injury, Chinese phonetics are more complex than Japanese phonetics. Worse yet, Chinese is a monosyllabic writing system; each character (or word) contains one syllable. Japanese words can be multiple syllables.
However, the "Hanzi" mentioned above means the traditional Chinese, not the simplified Chinese used in Mainland China now.""

Die Dompropstei am Domfreihof 4, auch Kurie Zolver genannt, ist eine sehr gut erhaltene Kurie in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Dom. Sie wurde wie die Kurie von der Leyen 1654 bis 1656 vom Kurfürsten Karl Kaspar von der Leyen an der Stelle der mittelalterlichen Kurie Zolver errichtet.
Der alte Name geht auf den Besitzer Herbrand von Zolver in der Grafschaft Luxemburg (1284 bis 1317) zurück (frz.: »Soleuvre«). Vorbesitzer und vermutlich Erbauer war Kuno von Arlon (1253 bis 1282).
Im Rokoko, um 1770, gab es weitere Baumaßnahmen. Aus dieser Zeit stammt auch die bemerkenswerte Innenausstattung. Es gibt noch romanische Vorgängerbebauung in dieser ausgedehnten Anlage in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Dom.
1803 bis 1805, also im Zuge der Nationalgüterversteigerungen, erwarb der aus Saarlouis stammende Papierindustrielle Leistenschneider das Anwesen, um hier eine Buchdruckerei zu eröffnen. Leistenschneider hatte auch das Bürgermeisteramt inne.

Am 5. Februar 2020, nach dem morgendlichen Besuch der Strecke Winsen-Niedermarschacht, bin ich hinüber nach Bardowick gefahren. Nach der Ankunft auf der Brücke machte ich es mir im Auto gemütlich und habe mir erstmal den neusten Eisenbahn-Kurier vorgenommen. Weit bin ich allerdings nicht gekommen, denn das Signal im Außengleis in Richtung Süden wechselte von Rot auf Grün. Der Blick zur Uhr schloss einen Metronom aus. Es war eindeutig "Güterzugzeit". Ich schaute mal mit dem Tele die Strecke entlang. Ich konnte aber noch nichts erkennen. Etwa 5min später wiederholte ich den Teleblick nochmal. Es war etwas Rotes am Ende der Geraden aufgetaucht. Allerdings dauerte es noch etwas und eine DB 152 rollte mit einem CT-Zug unter der Brücke hindurch. Das Signal wechselte nur kurz auf Rot. Es wurde schnell wieder Gelb und dann schließlich Grün. Also noch ein Güterzug im Block hinterher. Es tauchte dann etwas Blaues in der Ferne auf. Das wusste ich aber schon vorher, denn u.a. wegen dieser Fuhre war ich nach Bardowick-Bruch gefahren. Denn im Hamburger Hafen war die für METRANS Deutschland fahrende PRESS 140 017 mit einem Containerzug nach Leipzig vor einiger Zeit gestartet und rollte dann bei mir durch. Damit hatte ich die zweite neue 140er bei MTRD auch in der Sammlung. Zum Ende des letzten Jahres wurden die PRESS-Leihloks nämlich durchgetauscht. Nach der Durchfahrt blieb das Blocksignal wieder nicht lange Rot. Allerdings war es dann nur der ME, der sich ankündigte, während sich auf dem Mittelgleis die südfahrenden ICE die Klinke in die Hand gaben. Nachdem der ME durch war, war dann erstmal Pause. Es tat sich nichts mehr. Bis dann irgendwann wieder das Lichtsignal vom vorderen Gleis auf Grün sprang. Es rollten dann ein Kalizug von Hohe Schaar und ein weiterer Kistenzug gen Süden durch. Gegen 11:10 Uhr kündigte sicher der MEr nach Lüneburg an. Das Signal auf dem Außengleis war wieder auf Grün umgeschaltet worden. Ich widmete mich wieder dem EK und blätterte etwas drin. Irgendwie habe ich dabei wohl den Metronom ignoriert, verschlafen oder ausgeblendet, so dass ich beim zufälligen Blick auf die Strecke plötzlich hochschreckte. Da hatte sich doch ein Containerzug mit zwei blauen Vossloh-Dieselloks in MWB-Lackierung angeschlichen. Ich konnte gerade noch so aus dem Auto springen, die Kamera hochreißen und abdrücken. War mal wieder eine knappe Sache. Diesmal aber selbstverschuldet. Zum Glück ist es noch gerade so gut gegangen. Denn über die beiden G1700 BB habe ich mich sehr gefreut, denn bisher hatte ich die Loks noch nicht so richtig zufriedenstellend im Archiv. Der Zug war, wie sich hinterher herausstellte, um einiges verspätet. Normalerweise wäre die Leistung schon im dunklen durch Bardowick in Richtung Soltau gerollt. Und so wäre mir beinahe ein netter Zug durch die Lappen gegangen und ich hätte Euch das Bild nicht zeigen können... :)
Red kuri squash (commonly called "Japanese squash" or "orange Hokkaido squash") is a thin skinned orange colored winter squash, a cultivated variety of the species Cucurbita maxima. It looks like a small pumpkin without the ridges.
Other varieties of this subspecies include 'Hokkaido', 'Red Hokkaido' and 'Sweet Meat' squashes.
Kuri is a Hello Kitty pullip, so whenever she saw a Hello Kitty merchandise, she's excited. Hello Kitty with a fishy head, she thinks it's so cute & funny at the same time.

三年前の１０月２７日 十三夜の日に長崎幕末simで着物屋 恋文〜こころたより〜を隣接させた 船宿 こころ月をはじめました。着物はその前からつくっていましたが、本店をもつぞと意識したきっかけになったのが 船宿だったこともあって、記念日にしています。

This rusty structure is one of the few remaining structures from the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition 1925-26.

The New Zealand and South Seas International Exhibition was held in Dunedin Nov.1925-May 1926.
It celebrated NZ and the South Seas, and was the third such exhibition to be held in Dunedin (earlier exhibitions in 1865 and 1889).
Although NZ's population was then only 1.25 million, more than 3 million visitors came through the gates of the Exhibition.
The buildings consisted of a series of pavilions surrounding a central court area, dominated by a domed festival hall, and covering 16 acres.
The exhibition grounds and buildings included an amusement park with a quarter-mile scenic railway loop, restaurant, tearooms, displays from both NZ provinces and overseas countries, and "courts" set up by the UK, Canada, Australia, and Fiji.
Some sections of some of the exhibition's buildings were later sold off and moved to other sites, most notably a small domed structure (see attached pic below), now part of the South Seas Art Gallery at Brighton, south of Dunedin.
Further south, on a farm property at Kuri Bush, can be found this: the collapsing remains of one of the exhibition pavilions...
