I visited the Kubota Garden to see if the maple trees were wearing autumn colors. Not yet. My favorite maple was still largely green.

These tiny mushrooms were only a few inches tall. I brought only my wide angle lens to the Kubota Garden so I had to use it to shoot these delicate small mushrooms. I put the camera on the ground and propped the lens up a bit with a little stick. Was surprised to get a usable shot after I did major cropping.
Seattle's Kubota Garden is 20 acres of Japanese garden that is beautiful and serene. It is manages by Seattle Parks and Recreation and cared for by many volunteers. It does not label its plants but lets them speak to you directly. Many of the plants are enhanced by water feature reflections.

Kubota Garden is a historic 20-acre Japanese-style garden established in 1927 by Fujitaro Kubota, a Japanese immigrant and self-taught gardener. This Japanese Maple was planted by Kubota near a pond in what is now a Seattle Public Park.
