UP 6379 leads the GSPFRM-03 through CP Z067 in Topeka, KS on 2/5/23.
This one caught me by surprise, as I had come out to photograph the train two ahead of it, and as I was on my way home, Cade let me know that this was headed my way. Yeah, I definitely had to turn around and get the shot. There aren't many SP-painted engines left running, and to get one on the point, when you're already out with the camera, and there's (kind of) sun is a win all around.

Viel hat sich verändert im Kosovo seit unserem letzten Besuch. Die Nohabs sind Geschichte, ebenso die Wagen aus Schweden bzw. Österreich. Kosrail hat eine schwierige Zeit hinter sich, scheint sich aber zu erholen ... das Angebot an Personenzügen ist ungefähr auf dem Stand von 2010.
Neues Rollmaterial hat Einzug gehalten im Kosovo. Nicht nur der Güterverkehr hat neue Loks bekommen, auch der Personenverkehr hat eine bei Gradej modernisierte GM erhalten - sie ist als Lok 10 bzw. 2620 016 eingeordnet.
Die Wagen wurden aus Deutschland übernommen und zumindest von aussen aufgehübscht. Auf jeden Fall ein schönes Bild ... auch wenn die Nohabs mit blauen ex.SJ Wagen durchaus auch nett anzusehen waren.
Kosrail wird es aber nicht einfach haben in Zukunft. Denn im Kosovo wird kräftig investiert. Die Autobahn von Pristina nach Prizren ist fertig, jene nach Peja im Bau. Ebenso ist die Autobahn zur Mazedonischen Grenze fast fertig gestellt. Was dann die Eisenbahn mit den vergleichsweise langen Fahrzeiten noch ausrichten kann wird man sehen ... es ist vor allem eine politische Entscheidung.
Auf dem Bild ist die "neue Lok 10" mit dem Nachmittags IC nach Peja unterwegs. Bardh liegt hinter dem Zug und der nächste Halt ist Mjekai.

Train. Fright Train to Hani i Elezit (Mazedonia)
Lok 10 (enstanden als Umbau aus einer 661) führt einen Güterzug nach von Miradi (Pristina) nach Hani i Elezit. Das einzelstück bei der Kosrail wurde im Frühjahr 2012 gerade frisch in Betrieb genommen. Der Zug wird dann weiter nach Mazedonien fahren.
Aufgenommen beim kleinen Ort Stagovë. Im Hintergrund ist noch die Stadt Ferizaj zu erkennen, welche den Anfang des "Amselfeldes" flankiert.
