Diese Herbstblüher werden oftmals mit Herbstzeitlosen verwechselt ... sie unterscheiden sich lediglich in den Staubblättern.
Die Herbstzeitlose besitzt 6 Staubblätter und die Narbenäste sind ganz einfach -
dagegen hat die Herbst-Krokus-Blüte immer nur 3 Staubblätter und ihre Narbenäste sind gekräuselten und bäumchenartig aufgegliedert .
Crocus (Crocus) is a genus of the Irid family (Iridaceae), which includes 90 species. About a third of this is autumn flowering.
The crocuses mainly come from the mountains around the Mediterranean Sea. The largest number of species are from the Balkans and Asia Minor, with the exception of Crocus vernus (L.) Hill, which can be found as far as Central Europe (Alps and Carpathians), and a few species such as Crocus alatavicus Semenova & Reg. and Crocus korolkowii Regel ex Maw, which are native to the mountains of Central Asia.

Der erste Krokus in meinem Garten blüht in diesem Jahr sehr früh. Normalerweise blühen die bei mir viel später.
