Wawel is a hill on the left bank of the Vistula River and the historic district of Cracow.

The hill rises to a height of about 228 m n.p.m.

 

On the hill are two historic buildings:

- Wawel Royal Castle

- Basilica Archicathedral of St. Stanislaus and St. Wenceslas

In 1978 Wawel, together with the Old Town, Kazimierz and Stradom, was entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978.

Wawel jest wzgórzem na lewym brzegu Wisły i historyczną dzielnicą Krakowa.

Wzgórze wznosi się na wysokość ok. 228 m n.p.m.

 

Na wzgórzu znajdują się dwa zabytkowe zespoły budowlane:

- Zamek Królewski na Wawelu

- Bazylika Archikatedralna św. Stanisława i św. Wacława

W 1978 Wawel wraz ze Starym Miastem, Kazimierzem i Stradomiem został wpisany na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO w 1978 roku.
