This is the last view from the Dragon Crest Mountain above Krabi. It's got to be up there with the best viewpoints in all of Thailand I reckon. This is the end of this set of pictures for now but I may bring more from Krabi in due course.
Thanks as ever for following me and providing such fantastic feedback. If you would like to know more about this walk please see my blog entry at worthingwanderer.blogspot.com/2019/04/krabi-viewpoint.html
I am going to take an extended break from Flickr now as it is almost summer holidays and we have an imminent house move and month long holiday to come!

You do get some special sunsets in this part of the world but this one was spectacular even by local standards. This is looking out across the Andaman Sea
The beach at Krabi may not be the best in Thailand, but this sunset was pretty spectacular. “I never met a sunset I didn’t like.” 🌞
A view like a dream. Well earned after a fantastic trek and rainy night in the hammock on top of a jungle clad mountain. Shot with what was a medium quality camera and lens at the time, and almost at maximum focal range. i struggled with the haze and noise in the image for so long, but i have come to accept it for that and let it go soft almost like a water colour painting. That still brings the most out of the lovely light with the mist and outlines of the mountains.
Just visible on the ridge in the distance center left the chedi of Krabi's famous Tiger Cave temple.
When the mist cleared around 8am it became more obvious how hazy it was. I thought it was quite bad, until i made it back there a year later (with better quality camera and lenses), but on that occasion the haze was much much worse, so bad that i did not get a single useable shot. The haze is and was caused by forest fires in Indonesia, so please try not to buy any products containing palm oil.

We were staying on a high floor in a hotel when the light through the curtains turned red. I looked out and the sky over Krabi was blazing. This intensity only lasted for a few minutes but it provided an awesome panoramic view across the outskirts of the town to the hills and sea beyond. Photographed in Krabi town, Krabi Province, Thailand.
May 2022 bring clean air and more respect for nature and the planet that sustains us all. Stay healthy and strong. Be well and happy!
A view like a dream.
Another new beginning 6:59, sunrise over the limestone karsts in Krabi. Here is also another shot taken 15 minutes earlier.
In the distance right is Phanom Bencha เขาพนมเบญจา, one of Southern Thailand's highest mountains at 1,397 meters, an area with virgin rainforest and rare wildlife. A dream to trek up since my first visit many years ago. I was once nearby with the time, equipment and a guide to trek up, but it was too wet and landslides made it too risky.

When the mist cleared around 8am it became more obvious how hazy it was. I thought it was quite bad, until i made it back there a year later (with better quality camera and lenses), but on that occasion the haze was much much worse, so bad that i could hardly make out the first limestone range let alone see Phanom Bencha in the distance. The haze is and was caused by forest fires in Indonesia, so please try not to buy any products containing palm oil.

My beloved Thailand. When you first get to the islands of Thailand, you are struck by the scale. Nature has not been stingy in this place. Huge rocks sticking out of the sea, everything is green, clear water.
