Na de foto van de prachtige bediening in Köln Niehl ging ik verder naar AVG, waar naar mijn idee nog steeds vrij mooie Vollert rangeerrobots actief zijn. Er was niet veel actie, maar ik kon toch deze foto maken: vier van de vijf locomotieven stonden stil net buiten de laadinstallatie. De wagons achter de 2 linkse locs zijn containerwagens bedoelt voor waterafval.

Die römisch-katholische Liebfrauenkirche ist ein neugotischer Sakralbau im rechtsrheinischen Kölner Stadtteil Mülheim. Sie gehört mit sieben weiteren Kirchen zur katholischen Pfarrgemeinde St. Clemens und Mauritius.
Der Kölner Dom ist eine der größten Kathedralen im gotischen Baustil. Sein Bau wurde 1248 begonnen und erst 1880 vollendet
DEU: Auf circa dreißig Metern Straßenfront sehen wir hier zwei, vielleicht vier Nachkriegswiederaufbauten und tatsächlich noch vier notdürftig hergerichtete Kriegsschäden, bei denen nur die Ruine versäubert und ein Notdach drauf gesetzt wurde.
Die beiden Restgebäude im Hintergrund könnten sogar potemkin'sche Fake-Etagen erhalten haben, was in den Fünfzigern ein beliebtes Mittel war, ein bisschen den Himmel aus den Innenstädten zu nehmen und etwas Wuseligkeit zu schaffen.
Befinden wir uns in einer der wenigen noch vorhanden Veedel-Einkaufsstraßen Kölns? Nein - diesen Anblick bietet Köln seinen Besuchern in einer der vier innerstädtischen Einkaufsstraßen(-zügen) namens Hohe Straße, etwa 100 m vom Dom entfernt.
Nicht, dass ich falsch verstanden werde: Es ist bei mir immer wieder pure Verwunderung, warum Köln - und ich werde demnächst noch mehr Fotos dazu einstellen - immer noch so viele Kriegsprovisorien hat.
ENG: On about thirty meters of street frontage(façade), we see two, maybe four post-war reconstructions and actually four hastily repaired war damages, where only the ruins were cleaned up and a temporary roof was put on top.
The two remaining buildings in the background may even have been given Potemkin's false floors, which was a popular way in the fifties to reduce the view of the open sky in Germany's downtowns and create some hustle and bustle.
Are we in one of the few remaining neighborhood shopping streets in Cologne? No - this is the sight Cologne offers its visitors in one of the four inner-city shopping streets called Hohe Straße, about 100 meters away from the famous Cologne cathedral.
Don't get me wrong: I'm always amazed why Cologne - and I'll post more photos soon - still has so many provisional buildings from the post-war period.
