"See you again, my dear Aunty B" 2/23/2016...Infrared, 720nm Standard IR.
Oahu, Hawaii
My heart and this IR image is dedicated to my beloved Aunty B...she suffers, no more. She now 'Rests...In Paradise' with her heavenly father and her earthly father after her battle with liver cancer.
"We are...because of you" is the essence of what her ohana chose for her celebration of her life on this earth.
Mahalo, Aunty B...soul-mate to Uncle Sueo, no ka o'i makuahine to 3 keiki, & teacher of children for all you have given on this honua.

The Brighton Barn Theatre and the surrounding trees and meadows made a beautiful backdrop for testing my new Kolarivision 720 nm filter.
I went a little heavy-handed with contrast and detail adjustments, but this composition was a perfect test of my workflow with these plugins.
I am loving infrared photography: It opened up a new avenue of creativity for me!

"Secrets" is a surf spot on the southern facing shore of Oahu, Hawaii. A short walk out to deeper water, then a fairly long paddle to the surf break will reward you with uncrowded surf. Shhhh....

A shot of a neighbour's Hibiscus with a Kolarivision IR Chrome filter on a PENTAX-DA 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens using a Full Spectrum Converted Pentax K5 body. Interestingly, only the foliage has demonstrated an IR response; the flower colours are unchanged.
