Don't be Koi....
Shooting long exposures is already fun for me, but when you add in elements like these Koi Fish, then you've got a little something extra.
I took this at the Japanese Gardens in Portland back in October of this year. So many people frequent this garden and as you might imagine this area is a highlight for people to stop and enjoy the surroundings.
It took me probably 30 minutes or so to find an image without people in it and getting the fish to make enough movement for it show on daytime long exposure. This was shot with a 6 stop ND filter.
Koi
Kamayan sa Palaisdaan in the Philippines is all about fish, mostly for eating (it is a restaurant) but also for decorative purposes. It is such a pleasure to watch the Koi fish in one of the many ponds there.
Koi are are colored varieties of common carp.
Koi fish, a colored varity of Amur carp (Cyprinus rubrofuscus) in the Terrace Lagoon, a 18,500-gallon pond off Front Street at the San Diego Zoo.

It’s rained of two plus weeks here, it’s so wet my Koi are drowning. Well maybe not, but lasts night I did see a Jackrabbit with a lifejacket on, really.
we love our koi and everyone has a name... we had 12 and few weeks ago, we noticed that our beautiful Blondie, who we bought in 2017, was acting strange... she would eat and then spit the food out... thinking she swallowed a pebble from the bottom and had a blockage, we couldn't do anything about it... then there were days she acted fine... but last night we noticed her scales lifting... not good... and this morning I found she had died... very sad, she was so beautiful...
