My kids were playing on a big bouncer the other night around dusk. I captured this shot low to the ground.

Whittier, California's Googie architecture (1950s-1960s space age design) includes the Friendly Hills Bowling Alley, in addition to the Five Points Car Wash (photo here: www.flickr.com/photos/mollyblock/14603758499/.

Love the towering vintage neon sign that stands tall in the bowling center's parking lot.

I don't like the frayed look of the Kodot Grizzled film but I do like the look on her face, so it's a keeper.

The piano is opened for cleaning. It is amazing the things you discover behind the fallboard

This drive-in opened in 1950. The screen was demolished in 1997, but the marquee, thankfully, still stands.

Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre (490 ha) urban cultural park in San Diego, California. The park is named after the Spanish maritime explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa. It was the location of the 1915 Panama–California Exposition and 1935 California Pacific International Exposition which each created architectural landmarks for the park. The park's site was placed in reserve in 1835, and so is one of the oldest sites in the United States dedicated to public recreational use. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation green belts, gardens and walking paths, it contains a variety of cultural attractions including many museums, several theaters, and the world famous San Diego Zoo. This is the botanical building – a marvelous hothouse filled with all kinds of tropical plants.

This is a twofer; there's a K. Whiting sign to the rear and side of this. This is located off the first major exit after you get back on I 40 from Topock after coming off the Route. Thanks to FoodtographerLV for giving a closer pinpoint location of Yucca, AZ, on Proving Grounds Road.

This shot -- of one of my all-time favorite signs, was shot and processed with my iPhone 4.

It was originally shot with the Hipstamatic app, using the John S lens and Kodot XGrizzled film, then run through Infinicam for the b/w and framing, and then through Pic Grunger for the vintage look.
