Kobern-Gondorf has some of the oldest half timbered houses in Germany with a lot dating to the early 14th century this authentic feel adds to the already abundant charm of the village.

With all the castles and wineries to visit do not overlook the market square in Kobern with the Tatzelwurmbrunnen ( you have to see this little creatures statue), which represents the winding Mosel, as well as what is Germany’s probably oldest half-timbered house.

As with most things in Germany everything was so well taken care of and clean in the village it was like they just finished pressure washing the place there were flowers in the windows, fresh paint on the houses, and plaques designating historical buildings, the red carpet was rolled out for those that cared to take advantage of it.

Seen on a safari drive through Murchison Falls National Park. The park is full of plains and wildlife was very plentiful.

On this trip to Uganda we used Ngoni Safaris Uganda. They provided excellent service. I highly recommend them. James was our guide while in the Murchison Falls area. We stayed at Pukuba Safari Lodge while visiting this part of Uganda.

This photo shows two Door Forward (DF) Wright Streetlite's allocated to Redditch passing the old Jolly Farmer Pub, near the Alexandra Hospital. On the left is Diamond liveried BV63 OES (30164) on the 47 to Alexandra Hospital and Matchborough, as a circular service. BV63OES was new in September 2013, as a part of a batch of 5 allocated to Redditch. On the right is Wessex Connect liveried SK63 KOB (30529) on the due to change 67 towards Studley. SK63KOB was "new" in February 2013 to Flights Hallmark/Rotala PLC for use with their Wessex Connect operation. Both vehicles were supplied to Rotala via Mistral.

67 Change - Instead of continuing past the junction at the site of the photo, the 67 will turn off and serve Woodrow South. This means that the route will take longer than an hour to complete. The new 67 starts on Monday the 30th of January 2017. From then, the 55 will no longer serve Woodrow South and continue straight down to the hospital.

The waterbuck is the largest of the kob antelopes. It is known for its trademark white ring around the hindquarters which they use as a 'follow me' sign. If one of the group spots a predator and runs, the rest will follow to avoid becoming prey. Only the males have horns which are handsome, long and prominently ringed, sweeping backwards and up. The eyes and nose of the Waterbuck have beautiful white markings and it has a noticeable white collar under the throat line. Waterbuck have a brownish–grey shaggy coat with a lot of hair around their necks. This neck hair is hollow which allows for extra buoyancy when swimming, helping them to keep their heads above water. Waterbuck give off a strong scent that can be smelt even by humans, which is believed to deter certain predators. Waterbuck prefer an open, dry countryside with savanna grassland, bushveld and even hilly areas as long as it is close to water, like rivers or dams. They are often found in reed beds near rivers and also on floodplains. They never live far from permanent water sources.

A male Kob at Shai Hills, Ghana, West Africa. The Kob is an antelope found across sub-Saharan Africa. The Kob resembles the Impala but is more robust. However, males are more robust than females and have horns. Males have shoulder heights of 90–100 cm (3.0–3.3 ft) and an average weight of 94 kg (207 lb).

Did you know? The age of a male Ugandan kob is also determined by the number of spirals in its beautiful horns....
