Another delicate little flower, remindig me on my last summer holidays. Anybody knowing the species?

Before knowing the weather condition of the Himalayan region we should understand its geography. The Himalayan region covers an area of 2,250 km with an average width of 200 km. The forest belt of the Himalayan region consists of Oak, Rhododendron, Birch, Pine, Deodar, and Fir. And the monsoon season in this region lasts for mid June till the end of September. The Himalayas influences the meteorological conditions in the Indian subcontinent to the south and in the Central Asian highlands to the north to a great extent. It acts a climatic divider circulating the air and water system to a great extent. Because of its altitude and location it blocks the passage of the cold winds coming from the north to the Indian sub continent thereby making India's climate much more moderate. It also influences the rainfall pattern in India. The combined effect of rainfall, latitude and altitude largely influences the forests belts in the Himalayan region. The rainfall is mostly recorded during the monsoon time of June to September but it decreases as you travel from east to west. The snow-capped ranges of the Himalayas stretch 2, 250 km from the Namcha Barwa to Nanga Parbat on the Indus. The range extends from east to west up to central-Nepal and then takes a southeast to northwest direction.

I went for a bike ride last night in the fading sunset and I always make a point to finish each ride through this field so that I can see the sunset behind the mountains. When I stood in that spot and felt the sun on my face I was instantly reminded of Cameron and his warmth and light in my life.
I used to stand in this field and feel totally alone. I felt like the mountains were a fortress that kept me isolated from other people like me. I felt like an outcast. But then, through fate or the universe knowing what I needed at the right time, I found friends who, although live all across the world, appreciate the things that I do, see the world in the way that I do, and make me feel like I have a whole army of kindred spirits in this field with me. Cameron is one of those people who I've been fortunate to meet and get to know and be inspired by time and time again and who, when my confidence and outlook feels crowded and lost, can make me laugh and then put me back on the right road.

Boetti è stata una figura complessa nello scenario artistico italiano del 1900.
Uno degli aspetti che più mi ha interessato leggendo di lui è stato il suo modo di proporsi dei sistemi artistici in quali agire e in cui spesso coinvolgere altre persone.
Anche il rapporto con la "pittura" è stato per lui molto particolare, arrivando a ritenere la pittura un "tradimento" degli ideali (artistici e politici) negli anni del '68.
Nasce in lui una ricerca di utilizzo di altri materiali per le sue opere, fino alle forme tessili come nel caso dell'opera che ho parzialmente ripreso in questa fotografia.
Il testo persiano in questo ricamo è una delle affermazioni politicamente più presenti nelle opere di Boetti.
I suoi autori sono gli artigiani afgani che inventano il pezzo; Boetti li ha incoraggiati a inserire il proprio racconto tra i caratteri italiani.
Sono stati combinati versi celebri del trecentesco poeta sufi Hafiz con testi che descrivono la lotta contemporanea (1989) contro i sovietici.

I met incidentally the art of Alighiero Boetti in a museum in Rome.
Boetti was a complex figure in Italian art scene of the 1900s.
One of the things I was most interested in reading about him was his way to propose systems in which the artistic act and which often involve other people.
The relationship with the "painting" was very special for him, coming to believe the painting a "betrayal" of the ideals (artistic and political) in the years '68.
Was born in him a search for use of other materials for his works, to the textile forms as in the case of the work that I have partly taken in this photograph.
The Persian text in this embroidery is one of the most politically statements in the works of Boetti.
Its authors are craftsmen Afghans who invented the piece;
Boetti encouraged them to enter their story between the italian characters.
Were combined famous verses of the fourteenth-century Sufi poet Hafiz with texts that describe the contemporary struggle (1989) against the Soviets.

Suicide is a significant cause of death in our country. In some regions, it actually exceeds deaths by motor vehicle accident annually. Communities spend a lot of time talking about the need to make their roads safer, yet very few spend time talking about preventing suicide. It’s a hidden taboo because it is a subject that people feel uncomfortable discussing. And that is unfortunate, because the first step on the road to healing—both for those that are in distress and for their families—is to overcome the feelings of isolation and stigma. Suicide can happen in any family anywhere. It never discriminates based upon age, income, level of education, geographical location, race, religion--it is an equal opportunity horror.
I have known my friend Jennifer for many, many years now, and had absolutely no idea that she had a brush with suicide during her teenage years until I read about it in a post to her blog. Today she is a wife and the mother of four beautiful children—including two girls who were adopted from China. I applaud Jennifer and her openness and her willingness to share her experience….it takes a lot of courage to tell the world “I was 16 years old and thought of nothing but my own death.”

a beautiful fall morning a few weeks ago when visiting Calgary to watch my stepson play hockey.
I removed layer of powerlines that stretched across the foreground.....they were just way to distracting.... but...I took the picture knowing I would have to do that! I really liked the sky that morning....took a few pictures but this was the keeper....(and I even caught an airplane)

Knowing that this overlook is somewhere on County Road 5 (thanks to the fellow photographer Jack Brauer), I have been researching on Google Earth and finally figured out exactly where it might be. Glad that I did the homework, since this is not exactly an obvious roadside vista.
Over the course of three days the Sneffle Ranges never showed up from behind the clouds until the last morning before I had to head back. Sharing this magnificent view (yet awfully quiet) with photographer David Brookover (who by the way owns an extremely nice gallery in Jackson Hole), we watched the clouds emerge from the vaporization of snow, and eventually block the mountains again. The light was harsher than I'd like, but that's probably the best I can take away given the short amount of time I could spare.
Stitched from 5 vertical shots each at around 46mm. The end result is about 35M pixels.
Canon 5D + EF 24-70mm f/2.8L. 46mm 1/6sec at f/18 with Grad ND 0.9, ISO100, tripod.
Stormtrooper Bruce got wind Vader was planning random Surprise Inspections, again, at the end of the week. And knowing Vader like he does, he knows what that means. So, once again STB has asked the guys to go in on his plan to mess with Vader. Movie Nights can be SO much fun!
STB: OK class, repeat after me, "wingardium leviosa."

Vader: Well now, if you heard me that would defeat the whole purpose of a Surprise Inspection. And what in the Great Galaxy are you three Gungans up to this time?
STB: Well, as you can clearly see, we're practicing our spells. Proceed class, just swish and flick.
Vader: So please explain what's up with those those ridiculous goggles?
STB: Oh, no, sir. Sorry, but we're not ready for Riddikulus spells just yet. As for the goggles, they are for protection, in case something unforeseen happens with our subjects here.
TK-432: Sometimes things happen. Messy things. Gross, disgusting, sticky, ooey gooey…
Vader: OK! OK! I get the message. I don't know why I keep doing these inspections! The only surprise here is how you three haven't been shown the airlock after all these years.
STB: The airlock, sir? Oh, it's right down the hallway, two lefts and then one right. Or is that my other right? I get confused sometimes.
Vader:
STB: OK, class, back to our lessons. Speak clearly, and don't forget to make sure your goggles are on tightly.
Vader: I believe this inspection is over. Good day, Troopers, I must be leaving before something unforeseen happens.
