The Smile on Saturday groupβs theme for today, 12/18, is βreflection in a knifeβ. Took a bit of finagling but I think I got it!! Now to go look at the group pool and see if someone else had a similar idea. I try not to look before I postβ¦β¦

Actually more a "summer knife", this Herbertz pocket knife was a spontaneous catch during summer holiday.

A classic aviator's watch, with a Herbertz "Top Collection" folding knife. Older photo, dug out from the archives...
BTW, as the knife is single-hand operated and locking, it may not be carried under German weapons laws.
The watch is a monopusher, meaning the stopwatch functions "Start", "Stop" and "Reset" are all performed by one single pusher.
The movement is based on an ETA 7750, modified by Hanhart for the monopusher arrangement and relocation of the stopwatch minutes counter.

Macro Mondays - Sharp / Crazy Tuesday - Made of Metal
I have to say that in addition to being literally sharp, I also find this antique, beautifully crafted J.A. Henckels Friodur jack knife to be very sharp looking. It has been handed down through our family over the years and I have it displayed on a table with family photos and memorabilia.
Shattering the surface for dinner. It took two minutes of tenderizing, but finally... down the hatch! Sushi at sunset!

I was on my way to Jackfish Lake near Cochin, Sask., and stopped in the town of Cut Knife for gas. I had never been there before, so I took a little drive into the town. In addition to soe classic old grain elevators, the main street also has a good number of interesting looking old buildings. Another place that may warrant another longer visit!
