Petrified coral point from a $20 slab,knapped by myslf and placed on a whitetail deer antler that I shot in the Adirondacks,fake pine tar glue and real sinew from my buck.
I do use my knife to field dress my deer and bear .

Climatologist Mary Knapp will retire in September after more than 40 years at Kansas State University.
The former Knapp's Department Store building in downtown Lansing looks fantastic after a challenging renovation.
The Streamline Moderne-style building has been described as "looking like a yellow-and-blue ocean liner docked in the middle of Michigan's capitol [sic] city".

The headstone of Captain William Dudley (1793 - 1863) and his three wives Harriet Cragin, Mary Cobb, and Sophronia Lincoln of Worcester. He was the son of Major Paul (who served with Captain Knapp during the American Revolution) and Dorothy Dudley.
Captain Dudley married Harriet Cragin of Douglas (1797 - 1820) on January 18, 1816 and had a son named William Dudley on Novemebr 11, 1816 and a daughter named Harriet Cragin Dudley a few months before his wife died. His daughter moved to Maine were she went on to marry and become the mother of the Harriet C. D. Barker in the previous photo.
He Married Mary Cobb of Taunton (1801 - 1826) on June 10, 1822 and had three children who all died young
He married Sophronia Lincoln of Worcester (1804 - 1865) on Sept. 9, 1827 and had Sophronia who was a stillbirth, George Dudley in 1834, Edwin R. Dudley in 1838, and Mary W. Dudley in 1844.
www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~widane/bios/dudley_wm.html gives additional information on Captain Dudley's first son William who would move to Madison, Wisconsin. There he would become a prominant business man as well as State Librarian and Private Secretary to Gov. Farwell.
Knapp 100 Teilnehmer_innen, und gefühlt ebenso viele Fahnen, sind dem Aufruf der "Friedensbewegung", am Samstag, dem 03.12.2016, an der Demonstration "Stopp saudischer Kriegsbeteiligung gegen Syrien und Jemen" teilzunehmen, gefolgt. Diese Friedensbewegung ist allerdings nicht identisch mit der klasssischen bundesdeutschen Friedensbewegung. Es ist ein Projekt das von Protagonisten der mit Verschwörungsthesen belasteten montäglichen "Friedensmahnwachen" initiiert wurde und nennt sich "Friedensbewegung bundesweite Koordination" (FbK). Die Demo war antiimperialistisch nationalistisch geprägt und somit war es nicht überraschend das zwei Personen, die regelmäßig bei Bärgida und anderen neonazistischen Veranstaltungen zugegen sind, hier mitliefen. Das Leittransparent wurde von der nationalkommunistischen "Antiimperialistischen Aktion" gestellt. Für externe Beobachter_innen insgesamt eine gruselige Veranstaltung.

My bus line from Flint to Battle Creek, Michigan made a half-hour stop in downtown Lansing.
I took this opportunity to wander around with my Canon, and I'm glad I did.
The J. W. Knapp Company Building at 300 S. Washington Sq. has been beautifully restored. I'd love to see this building become a magnet for increased commerce in downtown Lansing.
