The project explores the relationship between the inner and the outer worlds of the user, and how the intention of how to use the object can affect the brain.
Objects with sound are used in traditional spiritual practice to create a specific state of mind; here the function is provided in a contemporary, everyday context.
Visually, the objects borrow language from antique scientific instruments, playing on the differences of objective and subjective experiences.
Whether the reason for using the objects in this range the neuro-scientific discoveries of how music affects the brain, their traditional spiritual origins, or just the fact that they make an unexpected noise, each case bring another dimension into the everyday dining.

This is a great vintage, possibly antique cheese/vegetable grater, a select item from Midcentury Marilyn's personal collection.
From the 40's or older, in fine condition for a kitchen tool used by a large family for over 60 years! It has 4 cutting surfaces, and measures 10 1/2" (handle to handle) by 4 1/4" across.

Picked up a beautiful Pink Scroll Space Saver today! It is a little more than I usually pay for Pyrex but, 1. it's pink, 2. it's near the top of my want list, 3. it's in nearly perfect condition. :D
This is my expanding collection of dishes in the Blue Heaven pattern by Royal China. I'm in love with it and am looking to continue collecting more pieces (as I can afford it!).
I just got this Le Creuset mortar & pestle yesterday, but I already think I'm going to love it. I've only tried muddling mint, lime juice and sugar for a mojito so far, but I can't wait to mash garlic and try making pesto with it.

This wonderful bowl and mug set is in great condition with no nicks or chips. The turquoise coloring is bright and charming, featuring kitchen utensils, a tea kettle and coffee pot, and a double boiler. I'm not sure who manufactured this set (Fire King, Hazel Atlas?) as there is no indication on the bottom. A wonderful addition to a pastel 50s kitchenware collection.
