This is a clever advertising item in the form of an empty, but still sealed, tin can from BERNARD FOOD INDUSTRIES, INC., MANUFACTURERS AND DISTRIBUTERS TO THE NATION'S FINE EATING ESTABLISHMENTS.
The label says "BERNARD DEHYDRATED WATER" and gives the following instructions for use: "EMPTY CONTENTS OF CAN INTO ONE GALLON OF WATER. STIR UNTIL DISSOLVED. CHILL AND SERVE." This "product" is even covered by U.S. Patent Office Trademark No. 898826!
A super pretty clear red vintage jar that my mother-in-law picked up in California when she lived there. They were sold in various colors, made in Japan in the 1970s.
Space is incredibly tight in the kitchen. This cart really helps open up space on the counter when I'm cooking. I tend to put extra utensils, or a cookbook on it while I'm in the main work area.
These days, we've put what we call "Coffee Central" on the right side of it. Our coffee maker, cup tree, and tins with coffee and filters fit nicely and frees up even more counter space in the main work area of the kitchen. The best thing? The coffee pot is two steps closer to the table, which is handy on sleepy mornings! :)

I have a lot of cookware! I don't have a problem with having a lot of kitchen utensils and tools. We eat at home almost exclusively, so all of it gets used. I've tried to down-size the equipment, but the only thing I could come up with (besides the toaster, which is stashed in a cabinet until it's needed) was the dishwasher. I could live without it and could certainly use the space it takes up!
There is a lot of snow outside, which has made the kitchen really gleam! We've hung a few napkins in a colour we're considering for the back wall. We are still looking for shelving and various storage ideas for this area. Right now, I have a couple of old french wine crates propped up there.
Spent part of this weekend designing and illustrating a few new lunch bags for my etsy shop. Among the new designs are lunch bags featuring portraits of Jules Verne, HG Wells, Nikola Tesla.
I don't normally collect Tupperware but I kinda liked these.Mid to late '80's I believe.
