I was having fun with the Abobe Photoshop Elements 2022.

ABC's and 123's V is for Vivid Colors.

When New York interior designer Victoria Hagan bought her house, “a real fixer-upper” in Connecticut, she could see it had serious potential. The kitchen, with its view of Long Island Sound and an enormous old stove, was a space to fall for. But first it needed a makeover. “The most important things in a kitchen are function, quality of light and lots of surface space,” she said.

To increase all three, she raised the ceilings and installed new cabinets and Carrara marble countertops. She also refurbished the stove and added a V-groove board on the walls, to add “texture and verticality.” The farm sink and faucet are from Waterworks; the lighting is from Urban Archaeology. “I’ve designed some wonderful kitchens, but this is one I truly love,” Hagan said. “I like standing at my sink and watching the sun rise over the water.”

Howard Backen’s clients know that the Northern California architect has an affinity for designing indoor-outdoor kitchens that typically become the most popular room in the house. In a barnlike residence that he designed in Napa Valley for the owners of a winery (also on the property), a 16-by-10-foot expanse of windowed doors slides up and into the wall so that the kitchen gives completely onto a terrace overlooking the valley.

But the room itself is worth staying inside for. The ceiling—which rises to 21 feet—and walls are sheathed in recycled timber, while antique terra-cotta tiles from Jerusalem cover the floors. Above the Wolf range are locally produced concrete tiles in shades that echo the landscape just outside. Countertops are cast concrete; butcher block tops the island. “All the surfaces are lit,” says Backen. “At night, the room just glows.”

Whether he’s designing for himself or for a client, Thomas Pheasant is interested in creating a flow from room to room. For his own residence, in a quiet neighborhood in Washington, D.C., he gutted the 12-year-old structure and crafted spaces with a classical inflection. Flexibility was key in the kitchen. “I usually entertain family and small groups, so having the ability to enlarge the room by opening the mahogany doors is great,” he says.

Pheasant designed all the cabinetry. The chairs are from his collection for Baker. The mosaic tile on the walls and floors is from Waterworks, as are the marble countertops and the faucet. The range is from Wolf, at Abt.com. Sub-Zero refrigerator. Nanz cabinet hardware. Pheasant, who often works on his laptop at the round table, loves the radiant-heated floors. “It’s wonderful to get up in the morning and go down to a kitchen with a warm floor, coffee and a newspaper.”

Interior designer Emily Summers collaborated with Austin-based architect Lawrence W. Speck to update her 1970 Dallas home by Enslie (Bud) Oglesby and enhance its creekside setting. Her goal for the kitchen was to create an inviting space that could serve equally well for casual family meals and for formal gatherings that frequently spill out to the dining terrace. To reflect the palette of the home’s lush site, she emphasized natural materials, using sea-grass limestone for the ample counters, brushed aluminum for the cabinets and white oak for the floors.

Edelman leather covers the Norman Cherner chairs at the island. The Mario Bellini Cab chairs (shown paired with the dining table) are from Cassina. The cabinets, glass backsplash, accessories bar and vent are from Bulthaup; the counters are from Walker Zanger. The floor-to-ceiling windows are from Hope’s Windows.

When Scott Currie bought his 1899 Southampton home, the kitchen had a dark tile floor and an acoustic-tile ceiling. The remodeled space features white subway tile, a stainless steel Viking range and oven, and a Rohl apron sink (Original Single-Bowl Fireclay model, rohlhome.com) with Georgian Kitchen brass sink fittings by Samuel Heath & Sons.

I’m impressed with how well these open shelves in the corner came out. I detest corner cabinets that are bulky and inefficient. And I love making a kitchen that invites beauty and comfort rather than just utility. I can’t wait to put some of my treasure hunting collections on these shelves

Apollo Kitchens – A Leader in Kitchen Installation and Renovation

We at Apollo Kitchens have proven ourselves as an industry leader when it comes to kitchen design, installation and renovations. We serve clients both in the domestic and commercial setups. Our kitchens stand out from the rest for our one-of-a-kind designs and innovative layouts.

Expert Service from a Professional Team

Whichever design you can think of, we match and beat the latest. The ideas we apply in new kitchens for our clients are all generated by a brilliant, creative team. Moreover, our prices are set to cater for all budgets. Whether your budget is big or small, we still make sure the latest trends in design are incorporated into your cooking space.

The installation process is thoroughly managed by our team of supervisors and executed by able workmen. We are thoroughly meticulous when it comes to details. If you’re thinking of getting either an indoor or outdoor kitchen, we have the best ideas and designs for you.

High Quality Complemented by Customization

In our designs, we incorporate as much of your ideas as practically possible. We also refine them so we go beyond your expectation. Our highly customized kitchens are one of the reasons why we have built a name for ourselves in the kitchen installation market.

We wouldn’t be so highly placed if our products and services didn’t adhere to legally set standards. This includes standards like the Australian/New Zealand standard 4386.1: 1996 (Domestic Kitchen Assemblies) and the Housing Industry Association guidelines.

Top-notch Renovation Service

Your renovation can run smoothly if you let us manage the entire process. We will help you brainstorm on ideas if you’re stuck or can’t decide what exactly you want to have. The cost of renovation is fair and quite competitive, for both small and large kitchens. We also do our best to deliver within the set time frame. Trust us, we know just how to make kitchen makeovers fun and exciting. We have handled a good number of remodeling jobs.

Sleek and pristine is the general air of modern and contemporary styles. We are increasingly leaning towards making the kitchen a dining space also. This being so, we also adjust your lighting to create the perfect atmosphere for dining. We are able to strike a wonderful balance between a working environment and an unwinding space with your kitchen. We can also incorporate certain accessories and fixtures to make it even more beautiful.

The Best Components for Your Kitchen

Modern luxury kitchens are becoming all the rage. For the room to be luxurious, every bit of it must be over the top. We stock quality ultra-modern appliances to that effect and use only the best materials available in the market for your hardware and fittings.

Our online gallery is filled with exquisite designs of cabinets. To go along with that, we have a showcase of practical yet beautiful shelving components in our showrooms.

Based on the specific needs, we install stainless steel benches, as the surfaces tend to stay cool, discouraging bacteria and certain types of fungi from multiplying and creating a health hazard. Benchtops made out of Caesar stone are a major highlight of our kitchens. Another feature you’ll notice is the laminate benchtops. Hettich and Blum soft close hinges make sure your cabinet doors and drawers close quietly and smoothly.

Highly Efficient and Safe Layouts

We zone your kitchen cleverly so that the distance and the number of times you have to move while cooking is greatly reduced. For instance, your refrigerator/ freezer would be placed next to your main counter tops so you can retrieve all you need, use them and put them back in one stride.

Ergonomics and safety are the two most important factors that our design team prioritizes. After all, fires are more likely to start in the kitchen than any other room in your house. Depending on your circumstances, we can make your kitchen baby proof and design it in a way that exiting during a fire is easy.

The designs and layout of your cooking space largely impacts on your comfort and it’s functionality. We want to bring your dream kitchen to life, while keeping these aspects in consideration. Visit our showrooms and offices today. Our office is located on 120 Long Street in Smithfield, New South Wales Australia.

I had the termites treated a few years back, but didn't want to deal with ripping my house apart at that time. To do the floors, we had to remove the linoleum, and the wood sub flooring. Then we had to cut out all the termite damaged boards with a saws-all. Those had to be replaced, a new wood sub floor built, then hardiboard, then the tile. From demo to done took us four weeks. We did almost all the work except the granite counters.

Apollo Kitchens – Offering State-of-the-Art Kitchen Installation and Renovations

We at Apollo Kitchens pride ourselves on being among the top New South Wales kitchen-renovation companies, for all types of small and large kitchen projects. Our kitchen hardware and renovation experts offer high quality service at affordable prices. Moreover, our philosophy places you first – we want you to have the best!

How We Achieve Great, Pocket-Friendly Renovations

Our inclusive new kitchen designs incorporate the latest designs to turn your dream indoor or outdoor kitchen into a reality. Even when you’re renovating big commercial kitchens, Apollo Kitchens will make sure you get the best commercial equipment. We apply layouts that cover small and large spaces with great expertise.

Great kitchen renovations are made up of four essential ingredients. It’s our ability to seamlessly combine all four that makes us your kitchen company of choice in NSW:

1. We Promote Functionality

New design trends require that whenever you’re instinctively turning to reach for a specific kitchen appliance, utensil or to placing down your hot dish, you should quickly and easily find the correct cupboard or the right surface. During the installation project, we ensure that your new kitchen is highly functional to give you a space that is enjoyable to work in.

2. Keeping it Realistic and Affordable

At Apollo Kitchens, we very much understand what makes a great kitchen and we appreciate the fact that all kitchens aren't a one-fit design. We carefully listen to your requirements as well as your ideas on the design. The installation we finally come up with will be a reflection of those very ideals. If you're looking to get your old and tired looking kitchen spruced up or even completely overhauled, our new customer-friendly prices will assist in achieving that goal without undue stress.

3. Ensuring Durability

Your kitchen is perhaps the most-used room in the entire home. There would be no point of installing that dazzling new kitchen or doing expensive makeovers if, within one or two years, the surfaces are all chipped and worn while the cabinet’s blum soft close hinges don't function like they once did. You shouldn’t worry about such, since our good workmanship, quality materials, and smart design choices will produce a kitchen that lasts for a very long time.

4. Enhancing the Beauty of Your Kitchen

In our contemporary world, modern kitchens are no longer tucked away at the back of the house or in a detached room of their own. They now appear at the center of the home often spilling onto the lounge and dining areas in an open free-flowing modern home design. Your kitchen ought to be aesthetically gratifying and contributing to the general interior design of your home. Its functionality need not detract from its visual appeal.

Apart from specializing in new kitchens and renovations, we also undertake custom joinery work and installation for you in case you need any of the following:

• Buffet units

• BBQ areas

• Stainless steel benches

• Kitchen bars

• Laminate benchtops

• Caesar stone benchtop

• Countertop cooking options

• Bench seating

• Cabinet shelving components

Beachy decor is what I love. Wicker, sea gulls, beach photos, a map of Pt. Reyes, and mosaic table. The iron sea gulls hung on our front gate when I was a kid. I was going to touch up their paint, but then decided they are better with the natural weathering. I think they must be 45+ years old. It's great to have them still hanging around!
