I decided to do my nails for the cruise so I pulled out the old nail kit, got a new buffing cube and file and slapped on old reliable Nailtiques.
Tech Support says my nails can now be considered deadly weapons!
I keep them pretty short though and as always I prefer a french manicure

I finally got the last of my new kit. Ironically, it was the first thing ordered: I bought it at the FlashBus seminar.
I anticipate that this will be how I do many of my setups. On the camera is my 430EX fit with the Orbis ringflash.
To camera right is one of the new LumoPro LP160 slave strobes, fit with the newly arrived LumiQuest SoftBox LTp. On the strobe is the diffuser, and inside the diffuser is a warming gel. (Honestly, I forgot about it until I saw the photos on the computer.) This portable softbox goes over the diffuser and creates a beautifully even and soft light.
Overhead is the other LP160 slave, fit with the other newly arrived bit, a LumiQuest SoftBox III. Smaller than the SoftBox LTp, the SoftBox III makes a great hair light. The SoftBox III makes a great soft and even light, just not quite as well as the LTp.
Missing from the shot is the subject. She was about 3' from the camera, and the LTp was perhaps 2' away, the overhead strobe being 18" away.
