Kinepolis (Metropolis), Luchtbal, Antwerpen, België

Passing through Whitehorse in 2016, I liked the small-town appearance of this cinema. Overcast day and light was flat, still had a go to document.

This is the only cinema in the territory and based on my readings, it's in rough shape. Clean carpets and fresh popcorn won't cut it. That said, the Yukon Film Society is having a go ...

Opened: 1954

Current Status:

- Shuttered since the start of the pandemic;

- Closed effective September 1, 2021;

- Sold sometime in late 2021 by former owner Kinopolis (of Belgium) operating under the Landmark brand;

- Lease signed by non-profit Yukon Film Society in Nov 2021 to restart screening films. Links below
