Governor Hogan Signs a Kimchi Day Proclamation by Joe Andrucyk at Governor's Office, Maryland State House, 100 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401

A little kimchi, some beef broth jasmine rice, and a little extra sliced green onion for garnish. I came across the recipe months ago, and it is my wife's favorite quick meal I make.

Going to have to work on the kimchi...not hot enough.

Homemade kimchi!

Today I made Korean food, Kimichi " 김치" for the first time ^^

of course I didn't used a seafood and fish sauce. instead I used a little bit of olive oil and lemon jucie and I also used regular Cabbage because i didn't found the Napa Cabbge. anyway it was delicious with the rice, next week I'm going to make Japanese food ^^

Day 147/365.

Lighting info:

i'm a little bit confused whether it's available or natural light.

I pretty much followed the Food 52 recipe but substituted stuff I had for stuff in the recipe. I poached the egg instead of frying it, the meat was a leftover piece of tonkatsu, sriracha instead of gochujang, etc.

Kimchi using Maangchi's easy kimchi recipe!

10 kilo!

i want in on this dinner action up here

Am trying to make kimchi again. We shall see.

I am reminded of my boss at Wheatland Vegetable Farm who pointed out that the difference between rotten and ripe is a subjective distinction.

A good meditation the day before All Souls.

Made this Kimchi with Jess using mostly Maangchi's recipe. I think we left out onions and oysters, but everything else we included. Very nice prices at the Korean store this weekend, so it was real CHEAP!!! Tastes good :)

Tortilla the fantastic stud-ham, sired a litter of 5 pups, 1 girl and 4 boys, with Kimchi :) These super cute little ones arrived on 10 June 2008 :)

We proudly announce the arrival of the first ever pearl-pudding baby born in our hamstery :) We are also glad to inform that all five pups from this litter have gone to new families.

On another note, Bacardi and Shiraz also had their first litter (on 21 June 2008)!! We had the supreme pleasure of welcoming another 5 fluffy sapphire winterwhites :D:D

I don't know why but my husband and I absolutely LOVE kimchi. Neither of us grew up eating it... even funnier is that he's Finnish, so this food is very far from his culture. :-)

We found this huge bucket for $6.49 at our local Costco. I've been buying a smaller jar for $3.99 at my local supermarket. This big bucket is a much better deal at the rate we consume it.

A Korean icon, kimchi is a fermented, spicy and sour pickles. The most common type is the baechu (napa cabbage) kimchi.
