All done. Yay!

I used the free Animal Crackers quilt pattern from Hoffman fabrics. The large cream squares and dot border are from their Kids Stuff collection. There is some jay mccarroll hexagons in there as well. I can't for the life of me remember who the outer leaves came from. The blue fabric with the baloons is Debbie Mumm, from Joann's. The aqua blue animals are Kokka.

Some kids playing with fireworks...

Every year the days around new year's eve kids and sometimes even adults get hurt playing with fireworks, sometimes very badly, losing a finger, go blind on a eye and/or get burnt very badly. Fireworks are legal in Iceland but I think kids should not be allowed to play alone with fireworks or maybe not at all.

I took this when I went for a short "photo-walk" in downtown Reykjavik with my friends in Fóton (Photon) photogroup, Helga, Ólöf and Viktor on sunday January 4th 2009.

A hands-on experience in working to get a fossil (actually they were small plastic replicas of dinosaurs and such) out of a hardened, cement like cast - more like plaster. Isn't it amazing how hard a child will work, even when the reward is very small! Some of them might turn out to be paleontologists, ecologists or just someone like many of our club members who like to collect fossils on their weekends.
