Titan arum aka corpse flower, the tallest and stinkiest flower in the world. This one reached 2.40 meters at its peak. The most prominent part of the flower is a giant banana-shaped structure with the color and texture of a chamois.

The titan arum is a giant among plants, with a massive flowering structure that can reach over 3 meters (10 ft) in height . The plant generally requires 7–10 years of vegetative growth before blooming for the first time. Due to its odor, which is like the smell of a rotting animal, the titan arum is characterized as a carrion flower, and is also known as the corpse flower. The titan arum grows in the wild only in the rainforests of Sumatra, Indonesia. It is classified as Vulnerable (V) in the 1997 IUCN Red List of Threatened Plants.

The flower is a rich red, with a huge yellow stamen protruding from its core, when it throws up a spectacular flower spike than can stand over 2 m (6.5 feet) high. Titan Arum / Kibut creates such a stink because when the flower is fully open, it gets hot and emits a repulsive scent that is attractive to its pollinators. Bukit Daun is a nature conservation surrounded by mountains on all sides. It is home to endangered species such as, honey bear, the world’s largest flower Rafflesia arnoldii, and the world’s tallest flower Amorphophallus titanium (locally known as bunga Kibut). Bukit Daun also offers some great do-it-yourself trekking opportunities and stunning sunsets.

This is taken from the hillside above Kibbutz Yiftah. I tried to time my walk up to this point so that I can capture it right at sunset, and still make it back before complete darkness. I didn't quite achieve the latter, but either way I got some great shots.
I went for another one of my walks today, thought I might climb the massive mountain towering over my Kibbutz. Turns out it's not just possible, but incredibly beautiful at the top.
My tuba had a nasty accident while rehearsing with Marsh Dondurma at the Bat-Yam street theatre festival. I couldn't look at the demaged tuba, and first thing when morning came I took a bus to Kibuts Hazorea'a, residence of Gabi Peleg, the only repairman I trust with my tuba. On my way I thought I have to get photos of him working, but it was to late to borrow a camera, so I bought a disposable camera at the bus station. pictures are very low quality, and many just didn't come out, but they'll have to do.

this is one of my first records when i was eight in israel at the kibuts in the 60th. for some reason i thought it deserve a picture. he fascinated me with his voice and songs, and it was his first albom. why the locker? why the suitcase.it could represent change. i dont have record player anymore. do you?
