Theyyam (Teyyam, Theyyattam or Thira) is a popular ritual form of worship of North Malabar in Kerala, India, predominant in the Kolathunadu area (consisting of present-day Kannur and Kasargod districts). As a living cult with several thousand-year-old traditions, rituals and customs, it embraces almost all the castes and classes of the Hindu religion in this region. The performers of Theyyam belong to the indigenous tribal community, and have an important position in Theyyam.
Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountains in India’s Kerala state. Munnar, a hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, is set within rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the 19th century. A tropical fruit from the genus Mangifera, a native of India and her national fruit. In my childhood, I planted one grafted mango tree in front of our ancestral house in India that bears 1000's of very sweet fruit every year but I could not taste even a single one in the last three decades since I never visited as it is too hot, humid and salty air that makes me sick.
They ate manna for forty years; the Keralites call this fruit 'manga,' and by overhearing the Portuguese also call it 'māṅṅa, a similar intonation.

Calvary mount is an echo tourism place near by Idukki. Here you can have the eye catching view of Idukki lake, high range hills and valleys. It is also a wild life sanctuary and may get a chance to watch wild elephants. The great attraction here is the calm and quiet atmosphere which can energies the body and mind. We can spend even the whole day by simply sitting in one place here without getting bored. One special thing is that nothing is artificial here. Here we can feel the great art by nature.
This area is mainly having cardamom, coffee and tea plantations. Main income is from spice plantation only.
Other than winter, all seasons are good to be here. Accommodation can get at Kattappana, Idukki or Cheruthony. Also huts are available at Calvarymonut hills, runs by Forest Departmemnt, costs approx. Rs.2500 for 24hrs which requires prior booking. It will take 4 hrs from Eranakulam and 2.5 hrs from Thodupuzha to reach here. You can take the bus to Kattappana and get down at Calvarymount junction. From Kattappana, take any direct bus going to Cheruthony or Idukki and there is just 30 min travel.

Eight days after the full moon of Shravan, falls the festival of Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna. Krishna Janmashtami is an important festival in the Hindu calendar. The first day is Krishnashtami or Gokulashtami. The second day is called Kalastami or more popularly Janmashtami. It is celebrated with great devotion through out the country. Vrindhavan, Mathura, Dwaraka are the most popular Krishna temples as it is beleived that Lord Krishna lived here. In all these locations, janmashtami is celebrated with lot of splendour. The image of the infant Bala Krishna is bathed and is cradled in the midnight time. The conch shell is blown and the devotees celebrate the birth of the Protector of the world by singing devotional songs and by dancing with great joy. In these places Janmashtami celebration has a special significance as these places has an association with Lord Krishna. So the rituals associated with the festival are followed. In some part of the North India, Krishna Jayanthi is celebrated for three days. The first two days are celebrated in a colorful manner. On the second day of the festival a popular ceremony known as 'Dahi Handi' takes place where the pot containing curd or butter or milk is broken by the youths. Dahikala or Govinda, as the festival of tying pots of yogurt and milk, and breaking them is called, is a special event in Mumbai and other cities of Maharashtra.
Onam (Malayalam: ഓണം) is a festival celebrated by the people of Kerala, India. The festival commemorates the Vamana avatar of Vishnu and the subsequent homecoming of the legendary Emperor Mahabali. It is the state festival of Kerala and falls during the month of Chingam (August–September) and lasts for ten days.

Kizhuparamba is a village and Panchayath on the northern boundary of Malappuram District In Kerala, India. Kizhuparamba is situated on the banks of the Chaliyar river and in the border of Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. Kizhuparamba Panchayat was formed on 1 August 1977 from the former Urngattiri Panchayat. Kerala State Highway (SH) 34 (Koyilandi-Edavanna) passes through Kizhuparamba. The name Kizhuparamba is derived from Keezhparamba which means "Low land" in Malayalam language. "Keezh" means "low" and "Paramba" means "land". It is believed that Tippu Sultan (1782–1799)'s army has used Kizhuparamba in their route from Feroke to Mysore. There was a very old route from Perunkadavu(Kuniyil)-Thrikkalayur-Kodityathur-Thamarassery-Mysore.
