A new Kentucky Fried Chicken store - the last time I passed the building it was a bank. As seen on a walk in Collier Row, Essex.

Taco Bell/KFC/Pizza Hut (4,160 square feet)
8 Victory Boulevard, Poquoson, VA
Opened in September 2001
It was announced in July 2008 that both McDonald's and KFC are opening a restaurant (both featuring a Drive-Thru facility) in 2009 at the exit of the new Southern ring road of Zaandam. Like most of these projects there was a delay but McDonald's opened its doors in August 2010. When visiting this store (October 2010) KFC was still closed and about to open.
Behind the both restaurants there will be a parking lot and probably another brico-hypermarket. This area is still under reconstruction.
Strange enough this brand new store has no EasyOrder and/or McCafé.

On the trip down to Knoxville, one of the many things Karen and I squealed with delight over was the idea of visiting the Colonel Sanders Museum. Then we noticed there was a Museum of Appalachia. There were choices to be made, for we knew we could hit at least one of these tourist wonderlands on our way back up North. So, research was done and the Colonel Sanders Museum won out, due to it's low low price (free) and it's guaranteed finger lickin' goodness. With the promise of eleven herbs and spices you can't go wrong!

It was pouring rain and very dreary walking along this path when we came upon this bag hanging on the fence.
HFF! Happy weekend!

Charlie Mackenzie: Dad, how can you hate "The Colonel"?
Stuart Mackenzie: Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly, smartass!
The Covid-19 Virus has disproportionately hit fast food workers harder than any other work category. Millions are out of work or on reduced hours including these two well-known characters seen in a bar on old Route 66 in Kingman Arizona last week.
“I don’t mind going through airport security, but they do seem to lose some of my carry-on items every time I go on vacation.”

The link below to the offical TSA press photo shows how much work it takes me to do these Photoshop satires.

Dunkin Donuts on Frederick Road in Rockville, Maryland, housed in a former KFC/A&W co-brand building. The building also housed local restaurant chain Chicken Out Rotisserie for a brief period following KFC and A&W's closure.

9918 Colerain Ave, Cincinnati, OH. Built in 1979 and closed in 2015 when KFC relocated just to the south. As of April 2016, renovations were underway to convert this into a Domino's.

Beto's Mexican Food has recently opened up in a former KFC that closed about a decade ago. If you look at the pictures carefully you can see that the paint job was horrible as the red from KFC is already showing through.
This place seems to change hands on a regular basis since KFC closed. It has been a sit down Mexican restaurant, some other type of restaurant, and a payday loan shark.
How long will Beto's last? From the quality of the paint job it sure looks like they don't expect to.
n 1989 the former Sanders Cafe, which had become just another KFC, underwent a retro-renovation. When it reopened on September 9, 1990 -- it would have been Harland's 100th birthday -- the KFC part had been shoved to one side, making room for museum showcases, restored versions of the Cafe's 1940s dining room and office, and a rebuilt Harland Sanders kitchen, where, as noted by an accompanying sign, "he perfected his secret recipe."
The historical marker in front of the Sanders Cafe states it boldly: Birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken. It happened in 1940, in the Cafe kitchen, where Harland Sanders worked out the correct combination of seasoning and cooking that would later make his chicken the most famous in the world.
Colonel Harland David Sanders was a real person. The historical marker calls him, "Kentucky's greatest goodwill ambassador," but he was also notoriously profane and hot tempered. Sanders once gunned down a competitor in an argument over a street sign. His passion for food was genuine. He would arrive unannounced at KFCs in his custom-painted Cadillac, taste the chicken and gravy, and if he didn't like it he'd throw it on the floor. Sanders did this routinely until a month before he died, age 90, on December 16, 1980.
