Early winter morning and not a soul about. Hours before the day begins a light wind is in the air. Is a change is coming? Too soon to tell.
The village streets, wet with the first snowflakes, glisten in the warmth of the street lights. Wreaths hung from the lampposts, strings of lights in the trees, shops quiet in the night as yellow stars line the street above.
A early winters dream that no one will see, well almost no one.

Sometimes I hate days off from work because I do absolutely nothing with myself. Today was one such day off. It kills me that I'm posting such boring stuff, but at least it's well exposed boring stuff. Besides, part of this whole project is documenting my day to day life, and unfortunately doing nothing is sometimes a big part of my life. If I'm going to do this at all I need to be honest about it. This is my life, day 6. I dicked around on the internet and worked on old photos for my super-secret project. I rule.

this cat appeared at our back door early Dec 22 .
She sat there meowing for hours and would come up and rub on us if we went out the door.
Obviously some ones pet that either got out or was abandoned.
Since then she has been living in my workshop while we have been searching for her "family".
Not one add has been putin newspapers ( they do FREE lost animal adds) or anywhere online.
I put adds in the local newspaper and at 6 places online including Craigslist and various "lost " animal sites.
We even took her to the SPCA to see if she had been reported missing (12/22) or to see if she had a "microchip" - no such luck.
Well , its been 5 days and it is past the end of the add in our local main newspaper , so in an hour or so , we are running her to our vet to have her checked out.
If she is healthy ( no HIV or feline leukemia) it looks like we will be keeping her.
It will make the women of the household happy , even if the felines get bent out of shape for a while LOL
BUT I told them , this IS the LAST CAT we will be taking in .
More than 5 and you become CAT HOARDERS ;-)

As seen from my bedroom window. I always wonder how birds manage to survive the winters here. Apparently this guy does so by basking in the exhaust from my neighbor's furnace. Couldn't decide between the two, ultimately went with this one because I preferred the colors.
If you live in Buffalo I don't need to tell you it was cold today. I woke up and the first thing I see is weatherbug on my phone showing the temperature at -11 degrees. Now THAT is motivation to go to school.
