A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty "Hi yo, Silver!" The Lone Ranger!

With his faithful companion, Tonto, the daring and resourceful masked rider of the plains led the fight for law and order in the early western United States. Nowhere in the pages of history can one find a greater champion of justice. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. From out of the past come the thundering hoofbeats of the great horse Silver! The Lone Ranger rides again!

--Radio Announcer, "The Lone Ranger"

…… Reminded me of Tonto & The Lone Ranger!! OK I’m showing my age a bit there - I remember an episode when Tonto tied Horseshoes to their horses sewn onto cloth but the wrong way around so they were not followed!! Clever eh !!! Spotted on a Bridleway in the village here but sadly neither the Lone Ranger or Tonto were in sight - Praps I went the wrong way LOL! Taken on my phone in Apple RAW & edited to B&W in Lightroom. BTW - the TV series was in Black & White too 😋. Alan:-)……..

Tonto to Lone Ranger

If you would return with us to those thrilling days of yesteryear, you might recall that Tonto, the faithful Indian companion to the Lone Ranger, called his boss "kemosabe." I heard somewhere that kemosabe was the word, in some Native American tongue, for chicken sh — uh, guano. Considering the Lone Ranger's habit of sending Tonto into town to get information, and the townspeople's habit of beating the stuffing out of Tonto while the Lone Ranger was back in camp, this translation could make sense. I suspect, however, that kemosabe was the creation of some scriptwriter or the creator of the Lone Ranger stories. Jay Silverheels is no longer with us to tell, and would Clayton Moore know?

Movie: The Lone Ranger 2013

I'm no big fan of Johnny Depp in the role of Tonto in the new Lone Ranger film, so this is a bit of art and a bit of a statement piece of how I feel. And if you wondering yes that big toy IS a 1873 Colt S.A.A, and its one hell of a big toy ;P

"I thought I told you I wanted a white horse."

"Why you gotta be so picky, Kemosabe?"

The two old stags were making their way home. It had been a good night and they were very unsteady on their feet. Even though it was lighter in the dawn they still lurched into muddy dips and blundered into the odd tree trunk. Once they had been boyhood friends playing cowboys and indians since one of them had been given a gunbelt with two cap firing silver pistols and an Indian chief headress for his sixth birthday. The pair were now in their sixties but had stayed close to each other throughout life. And they still addressed each other by their playtime Indian names. Charles was Cochise and Graham was Geronimo. Well they had consumed rather too much firewater lastnight and might now face some retribution from their wives. Their slurred banter had continued as they walked home through the forest but trying hard to pull his brain into focus, and after a long quiet spell only broken by profanities as he slipped into one muddy hole after another, it was Cochise Charles who spoke next.

Here's a puzzle for you, he said, "An Indian chief had three wives, each of whom was pregnant. The first gave birth to a boy. The chief was so elated he built her a teepee made of deer hide. A few days later, the second gave birth, also to a boy. The chief was very happy. He built her a teepee made of antelope hide. The third wife gave birth a few days later, but the chief kept the details a secret. He built this one a two story teepee, made out of a hippopotamus hide"

"So," Charles said, "Can you guess what had happened?"

He looked at his mate. He had gone cross eyed, his brow furrowed. Waves of mental confusion as he tried to concentrate. So Cochise repeated the challenge, as he turned to walk on. And Graham Geronimo followed silently.

Suddenly there was a cry from behind: "Got it!" and Cochise turned back to see his friend, big grin now on his face

"The third wife had given birth to twin boys!"

”Correct,” said Cochise “How.....how did you work it out?

”Well" Geronimo answered, “It’s elementary. The value of the squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sons of the squaws of the other two hides".

Crap. I should have written a story about a stag do.

|The Lone Ranger and Tonto walked into a bar one day and sat down to drink a beer. After a few minutes, a big tall cowboy walked in and said, “Who owns the big white horse outside?” The Lone Ranger stood up, hitched his gunbelt, and said, “I do. Why?” The cowboy looked at the Lone Ranger and said, “I just thought you would like to know that your horse is just about dead outside!!” The Lone Ranger and Tonto rushed outside and, sure enough, Silver was about dead from heat exhaustion. The Lone Ranger got him some water and made him drink it, and soon Silver was starting to feel a little better. The Lone Ranger turned to Tonto and said, “Tonto, I want you to run around Silver and see if you can create enough of a breeze to make him start to feel better.” Tonto said, “Sure Kemosabe”, and took off running circles around Silver. Not able to do anything else but wait, the Lone Ranger returned to the bar to finish his drink. A few minutes later, another cowboy struts into the bar and announces, “Who owns that big white horse outside?” The Lone Ranger stands again and claims, “I do. What is wrong with him this time?” The cowboy says to him, “Nothing much, I just wanted you to know………… you left your Injun running!!!”

The title is a line from a short dio script I penned last year, concerning the fate of Tonto's horse, who Tonto curtly reports was "eaten". The Lone Ranger says, "When did you run afoul of a bear?" to which Tonto replies, "No bear, Kemosabe."

Brunktöberfest has arrived: I am now officially 32 years old! How will this bearded psycho spend his birthday? Well, since it's near Halloween, I'll be visiting my hometown of Lancaster, PA to spend time with my horror movie filmmaker friends. For all of my good kemosabes in Central PA, look for me this weekend, and we'll get tacos! And for everyone else, thank you for the birthday wishes and so forth -- after all, I've only got a few grey hairs! Hail to the Baron!!

“Kemosabe” is the term used by Tonto as the Native American name for the Lone Ranger, thought to mean “trusty scout.” In Navajo, on the other hand, “kemosabe” translates as “soggy shrub.” If this seems an odd thing for faithful friend Tonto to call the Lone Ranger, perhaps he was just repaying the Ranger’s long-standing insult. “Tonto” is a Spanish word meaning “stupid.” -- The Word Detective.

I hear the sound of many horse hooves, kemosabe.

yes, Tonto. An Indian war party.

many braves, kemosabe. many many guns. and there is no way out of this canyon.

it looks like we're finished, old friend.

what you mean, 'we,' white man?

Lone Ranger Trivia -

The Lone Ranger shoots silver bullets from his gun. He uses silver bullets as they are expensive, he must think carefully before firing a single shot.

His famous cry of "Hi Ho Silver away" was introduced when he was the star of a radio show and was used to denote when he was about to ride off on his horse letting the audience know a scene was ending or about to begin.

The Lone Ranger is never caught or held against his will, this ensures his identity remains a secret.

His domino mask is made from material from the waistcoat of his dead brother.

"Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar has given you the call."

The prototype Caterpillar for my forthcoming LEGO Alice in Wonderland parody video. I'm actually going to avoid excess drug references in my version, and will instead focus on having the Caterpillar's symbolism be that of cruel, sadistic stranger. Therefore, his personality will be a jarring parody of my sociopath stepfather, who chain-smoked and spoke with outdated slang terms. The voice of this obnoxious blue insect shall be provided by my good kemosabe Erik O'Blivion of Audiodrome, a talented photographer and audio composer!

If I had a boat

I'd go out on the ocean

And if I had a pony

I'd ride him on my boat

And we could all together

Go out on the ocean

Me upon my pony on my boat

If I were Roy Rogers

I'd sure enough be single

I couldn't bring myself to marrying old Dale

It'd just be me and trigger

We'd go riding through them movies

Then we'd buy a boat and on the sea we'd sail

The mystery masked man was smart

He got himself a Tonto

'Cause Tonto did the dirty work for free

But Tonto he was smarter

And one day said Kemosabe

Kiss my ass I bought a boat

I'm going out to sea

And if I were like lightning

I wouldn't need no sneakers

I'd come and go wherever I would please

And I'd scare 'em by the shade tree

And I'd scare 'em by the light pole

But I would not scare my pony on my boat out on the sea

The Lone Ranger is a fictional masked former Texas Ranger who fought outlaws in the American Old West with his Native American friend, Tonto. The character has been called an enduring icon of American culture.

He first appeared in 1933 in a radio show conceived either by WXYZ (Detroit) radio station owner George W. Trendle, or by Fran Striker, the show's writer. The radio series proved to be a hit and spawned a series of books (largely written by Striker), an equally popular television show that ran from 1949 to 1957, comic books, and several movies. The title character was played on the radio show by George Seaton, Earle Graser, and Brace Beemer. Clayton Moore portrayed the Lone Ranger on television, although during a contract dispute, Moore was replaced temporarily by John Hart, who wore a different style of mask. On the radio, Tonto was played by, among others, John Todd and Roland Parker; and in the television series, by Jay Silverheels, who was a Mohawk from the Six Nations Indian Reserve in Ontario, Canada. Patrick (nature seen) and I met Kemosabe and Phil in Hawrelak Park. today.

Phil brings Kemosabe to the park to let him fly a bit and check out the other birds.

There was also a young girl with her parents there. Phil taught her to sing "La La La" phrases to Kemosabe. She was so delighted to hear him sing back those notes to her.

Best find of the day.

On Tinder, girls will often specify in their profiles that they will always swipe left [reject] guys whose photos depict them holding a gun or a dead animal. In response, I've taken this self-portrait as the ultimate form of satire for my dating profiles.

This photo in particular was shot in a grass field off a nature trail in Manheim Township, PA on Memorial Day weekend. My good kemosabe Mike Lombardo helped take the shot and propped up the reflector disc. I got a haircut and a beard trim earlier that afternoon; when brushing off discarded hairs from my shirt, the barber lady noticed my manly chest and asked if I worked out.

(although in this photo, that circular shape poking through my right shirt pocket area is actually my lens cap)

I have acquired Ecto Cooler. You must be green with envy.

As soon as Ecto Cooler started to appear on shelves around Memorial Day, my good kemosabe Mike Lombardo and I drove quixotically around central Pennsylvania in search of this coveted green beverage. With no luck finding any, we both managed to score some cases of it off Amazon, despite the products being sold out instantly.

This particular shot was taken using a new photography rig that I set up, which uses a glass pane as the platform, with a subtle diffused flash, which creates an elegant reflective shot. I also used green spotlights for the glowing effect.

[edit]Childhood and youth

Luke was born in Westerly, Rhode Island[1] to an architect father and an interior-designer mother, but spent much of his formative years in New York City.[1] He had originally wanted to be a drummer, but his parents refused to allow a drum kit in the house.[2] At 13, he picked up his older sister's guitar and taught himself how to play. In his teenage years, Luke became a drug dealer, selling "to other dealers mostly" and got kicked out of a number of private schools, including St. Luke's and the Little Red School House [3] As a teenager, Luke would "listen to bad music over and over, if there was a guitar part he admired, so he could figure out what the guitar player was doing right." [2] Gottwald was raised Jewish.[4]

[edit]Career beginnings and Saturday Night Live (1997-2007)

Luke attended the Manhattan School of Music for two years. After he was a student there, he auditioned for the Saturday Night Live Band and won out over 80 applicants, joining Saturday Night Live (SNL) as the lead guitarist in 1997. Luke performed with the band for ten seasons, leaving at the end of the 2006-2007 season. As a guitarist, Luke performed with Herbie Hancock, Michael Bolton, Phoebe Snow, Jack McDuff and Shabba Ranks, and played with the house band for the TV series Amateur Night at the Apollo.[5]

While working on SNL, Luke performed on a number of jingles and advertisements and became a deejay fixture in New York.[3] Luke also became heavily active in the underground hip-hop scene, producing tracks and remixes for various artists, including Mos Def, Black Star, and KRS-One & Zack de la Rocha.[6] as well as for artists such as Arrested Development and Nappy Roots.[7] He released the 12" single "Wet Lapse", under the name Kasz, for Rawkus Records, and remixed the theme from the film Mortal Kombat.[5] While deejaying at a house party, Luke met producer Max Martin and subsequently gave Martin a tour of New York clubs when Martin arrived in the city.[2]

[edit]Producing, songwriting and recognition (2004–present)

Luke currently owns two publishing companies, Where Da Kasz At Music and Kasz Money Publishing, of which he employs a network of 12 songwriters, as well as Kemosabe Entertainment, an imprint of RCA Records.[8] As of January 2011, he has garnered 21 Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 singles, becoming the producer with the third most such hits since the charts were created.[9] Luke co-wrote and co-produced the Kelly Clarkson Hot 100 number two song, "Since U Been Gone" with Max Martin,[2] while providing the singer another hit "Behind These Hazel Eyes" as well. Subsequent songs by Pink, "Who Knew" and "U + Ur Hand" reached the Hot 100 top ten. He would go on to co-produce a number one for Avril Lavigne with the song "Girlfriend" as well as seven other songs on the album. He also achieved a UK number one with the song "About You Now" for the Sugababes. Luke contributed two songs to Katy Perry's debut album, Hot 100 number one, "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold", as well as three songs to Britney Spears' 2008 album, Circus, including the title track. Luke also co-produced the US number one song "Right Round" by Flo Rida. His third co-production for Kelly Clarkson, "My Life Would Suck Without You" would reach the top of the Hot 100 as well. In late 2009, his song for Miley Cyrus, "Party in the U.S.A." would reach number two on the chart as well. In December 2009, Billboard named him as one of the top 10 producers of the decade.[10]Harold Camping Silent Today. In 2010, Ke$ha's Luke co-produced single, "Tik Tok" became the longest running debut number one single by a female artist since 1977. On April 21, Luke was named Songwriter of the Year at the 2010 ASCAP Pop Music Awards and received 10 ASCAP Pop Music Awards for the year as the songwriter and publisher.[7] Luke had received ten Pop Music Awards from ASCAP between 2006 and 2009. He was also named to Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business, placing at #33.[11] Luke's co-production for Katy Perry, "California Gurls" www.imdb.com/title/tt1905777/combined debuted at number two on the Hot 100 and later reached number one. Second single, "Teenage Dream" would follow suit. The Luke co-produced Taio Cruz track, "Dynamite", reached number one in the UK and number two in the US. Luke would contribute to three more top ten songs, "Magic" for B.o.B, "My First Kiss" for 3OH!3 and "Take It Off (song)" for Ke$ha, as well as a top five song, "Your Love is My Drug" by the latter on the Hot 100. In November, Ke$ha's Luke co-produced lead single, "We R Who We R" became only the seventeenth song to debut at number one on the Hot 100.

On December 1, 2010 Luke received 2 nominations for the 53rd Grammy Awards in the categories Album Of The Year (Teenage Dream by Katy Perry), and Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical.[12] He was also named both the Number One Hot 100 Songwriter of the Year and Number One Producer of the Year by Billboard.[13][14] At the start of 2011, Advertising Age called Luke "the year's most successful producer and songwriter in terms of chart longevity."[8] Britney Spears' Luke co-produced single, "Hold It Against Me" became the eighteenth song to debut at the top of the Hot 100 in January. He also produced and co-wrote Jessie J's song, "Price Tag", for which he received credit as "Coconut Man". The song debuted at number one in the UK. He also Co-produced "E.T." by Katy Perry, another Billboard number-one-Hit.

During a few idle moments I spent some time rummaging through my drawers and found a few forgotten items . This book is dated 1958 and is illustrated by Don Lawrence , best known for his work in the Look & Learn magazine and the Trigan Empire series in The Ranger comic .

The character was originally believed to be inspired by Texas Ranger Captain John R. Hughes, to whom the book "The Lone Star Ranger" by Zane Grey was dedicated in 1915. The radio series proved to be a hit and spawned a series of books (largely written by Striker), an equally popular television show that ran from 1949 to 1957, comic books, and several movies. The title character was played on the radio show by George Seaton, Earle Graser, and Brace Beemer. Clayton Moore acted the Lone Ranger on television, although during a contract dispute, Moore was replaced temporarily by John Hart, who wore a different style of mask. On the radio, Tonto was played by, among others, John Todd and Roland Parker; and in the television series, by Jay Silverheels, who was a Mohawk from the Six Nations Indian Reserve in Ontario, Canada .

After round one of the second depression closings, which killed off the best of the vintage shops in NYC, round two is under way. This time it is the bars. Booze is supposed to be recession proof, and maybe that's what makes this one a bit scarier. Mars bar is slated to close, no big loss in my book, but Max Fish is too. And that makes me a very sad bear. Max Fish was supposed to last forever. Well, forever is over, and so goes the Fish. RIP kemosabe!

Maybe they shoulda tried a Ladies Night?
