Dusit Zoo, Bangkok, Thailand...

Welcome to Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram (Thai: วัดเบญจมบพิตรดุสิตวนารามราชวรวิหาร). It is a buddhist temple (wat) in the Dusit district of Bangkok, Thailand. Also known as the marble temple, it is one of Bangkok's most beautiful temples and a major tourist attraction. Although It is very near my university but I just had a chance to visit it today. I would say it is indeed gorgeous. I was so impressed :-).

Construction of the temple began in 1899 at the request of King Chulalongkorn after building his palace nearby. The temple's name literally means the Temple of the fifth King located nearby Dusit Palace.

This shot is the Ordination Hall (Ubosot). It was constructed from Carrara marble from Italy and showing distinct European neo-classical influence. It was designed by H.R.H. Prince Narisranuvattivongse, half brother to King Chulalongkorn, Rama V, and has been reckoned for its architectural and decorative arts of finest Thai craftsmanship, say, second to none in the world. It attracts the interest of tourists throughout the world to come to visit in large numbers each year :-)..Hope you enjoy and like it :-)..

Have a sweet day. Take a rest and keep smiling :-).. Have you sweet smiled today :-)?

Wat Benchamabophit Dusitvanaram (marble temple), Bangkok, Thailand..

This shot is the back of the Ordination hall. One should walk around the whole Ubosoth structure to admire the intricate and colorful decoration of the windows and especially the gables. From the east, the entrance view with the east gable and its five-tiered roof is simply unmatched.

Unfortunately, because of the sunlight and the white marble of the walls, it is hardly possible to take well done pictures from that side during any time of day so I try to do something more. Hope you enjoy this image :-).

Have a lovely week. Keep smiling.g.g.g.g :-). Sending you nice sunshine and sweet smile from Thailand :-)...

"a father's seldom-spoken love

sounds clearly through the years -

sometimes in peals of laughter,

sometimes through happy tears.

perhaps they have to speak their love

in a fashion all their own.

because the love that fathers feel

is too big for words alone"

Hello Dear Flickr Friends:

Thank-you with all my heart for the inspiration and love you share with me on Flickr. It always moves me to be able to witness an aspect of so many lives, especially those who grow and expand personally through artistic expression and then generously share their journey with others. Thanks for your encouragement, your poetry, your questions and your feedback on my work. This process keeps revealing to me how deeply we impact one another and reminds me of how many of us are always yearning to feel life more deeply and create new experiences of joy and peace around the globe. No matter what may be flashing across the news screens, when I reconnect here with you on Flickr, I see a beautiful synergy of people who still celebrate the beauty and wonder of life, who still feel the poetry and rhythm inside and moment by moment capture a unique perspective of the the greatest mysteries. After I look outside and listen to the noise of the concrete jungle, I can reconnect with the wonder of the Himalayan mountains, go wandering through the Swiss Alps, watch a volcano erupt in Hawaii, sit quietly by a flowing stream and take in the songs of poets and visionaries and bask in the innovative art odyssey happening around the world. After I feel skeptical that change can ever truly happen in the world, I watch how many lives bloom and blossom before my very eyes here on Flickr. It always makes my heart dance.

I’ll be away for a few weeks to go on another SongQuest but I will be back and catch up with your photo streams.

******** Note Added September 14th...still Songquesting...thanks for all your comments. Be back soon to share some of the gems of discovery and experiencing yours as well. Smiles across the miles...

********Note added October 8th...Happy Canadian Thankgiving...Looking forward to connecting with you all really soon. Smiles across the miles...
