The debate continues. Is this padlocked gate keeping us out or someone else in! I don't generally do Monochrome but felt this subject leant itself nicely.
Shot with the Olympus E-M1 in rural Bristol, Vermont. I am attracted to these old New England structures and the footprints on the door caught my attention. The "KEEP OUT" signs tell another story however, not that you'd want in but just in case you had any thoughts of getting a closer look mind you. I wisely decided to heed the warnings and shoot from a distance before somebody shot me. Welcome to America.
It was strong light coming from yonder, so this was a bit hard to catch the right way.
Everyday can be a whole other change in the light.

I have been out and about a great deal lately. Seeing as I was ill for almost a month. (I rarely get sick) I always have a large archive of photos to fall back on. I have been deleting some of those also. Quite often there are way too many duplicates.

Warning: Keep out!!
“She doesn't understand that doors, walls, fences, ceilings - they're helpless to keep out what determinedly desires to get in.”
Quote ― Sonya Hartnett, Surrender
HFF everyone!
You can sit and worry about tomorrow but it will go about its' way no matter. There is something to be said about a care free, take it as it comes attitude. That is mostly how I am. I never look at tomorrows weather. I wake up and peek out the door and decide from there.
Why worry about the things you cannot change?

We do not have any snow here at present. It has been very rainy. I am sure it will stay soon enough.
Railings are not fences. Railings in fence groups annoy me. It is like putting a car shot in a truck group.

No Trespassing, Stay Out, Keep Away, Posted, Do not Enter. This gate is locked to keep out any wayward photographers. I find this rather funny since you only need to walk several feet until the fence ends. Then you can walk around it. I didn’t bother because the field only contained grain stubble. I guess the farmer likes to have a gate to drive his tractor and combine through. . . just like on a big farm. HFF
Sometimes the world seems cold and empty. But I like to think of it full of love and kindness.
We can always reach across the empty vast space and help someone.

I remember that this was a very cold morning. My only friend was my medium steeped tea while I positioned outside and then back in the car for comfort.
The morning shots are so nice though.

Sometimes it is good to go down different roads. New things are waiting to be seen. Thus this fence and gate.
I hope everyone is fine.
Remember, it is garbage day somewhere.

It is hard to stay on top of all this chaos. One does not want to fail their loved ones. It seems every day is tougher. It is so hard to navigate the madness. Yet being aware of everything all the time is the only way to survive it.
Like this fence, adjustment is needed.

Pedro and Savina Martinez lived in this residence until 1994 in Lake Valley. They were the last residents in the town. Pedro lived in Lake Valley for 90 years.
Happy Fence Friday!
This shot was taken a month or so ago on Paris Plains Rd. There is not a lot of space to pull over but there are a few nice posts along the way.
The world is getting a bit scary out there with the virus spreading. I hope everyone respects a little bit of personal space and wash your hands often. I have COPD so I am at risk but am trying to be on the ball about it. Be safe everyone.

This fence shot is up near the 403 highway in a slightly industrial area. Some gravel pits also. I am thinking that there hopefully will not be many more of these scenes to shoot.

Rural Iowa
On a very recent misty foggy day, I was temped to hike up the inviting path to explore over the hill. Then I noticed the sign on the left . . . "Keep Out!"
Well, I don't usually trespass onto someone's property without permission, so I just enjoyed the various frosty colors from the entrance!
I'll be on & off as we get closer to the Holidays . . . busy, busy, busy! :)

So Flickr charges more money, yet today every fourth picture I visit I cannot comment. And beyond that ideal. One of us fine devoted flickr member passes and when renewal comes around, all their work except 1,000 images is gone. I would like to think some of us live onward.
I do not know why fences attract me so. They stand for so many ideals compared to life. I think the one thing that stands out is that it means "this is mine, stay out"
Go get your own in other words.

Old shack on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Somewhere along the highway in Mendocino or Sonoma County.
I am not sure if I ever posted a vertical fence shot before, but this was the way came out. I had to eliminate a few distractions. Taken along Cleaver Rd. A favourite spot of mine.

A creative approach. For all of you critical left brain photographers, check out the grain in that fence.
When I am taking a shot of a fence I am considering it to be like a poem. What would the present poem before me be saying. If it was saying something to me, would it be something different to someone else?

Another fence along my travels. Okay a gate that is attached to a fence. I would argue that a gate is sort of a fence. Many things can be a fence. A barrier or guard. Sometimes there are some cows in here. Today there were not.
