The Black Pearl New Brighton, a Pirate ship built from Driftwood washed up on local shores, constructed by local artists Major Mace and Frank Lund and rebuilt by The Black Pearl Pirates, a team of dedicated followers after the 1st build was washed away by a spring tide and stormy weather, the Pearl is now in her 3rd incarnation having suffered from a fire and the said storms.

Entangled plastic rope and entangled seaweeds...guess which one kills birds ?

Entanglement –a bird gets ensnared in the loops and openings of debris. Fishing line, netting and string can entangle birds’ wings and feet. As they struggle to get free, they get even more entangled and can drown, starve or strangulate. Six pack rings are especially hazardous to diving birds and surface feeders. Nearly invisible in the water, birds dive through them and get them stuck around their beaks or necks. Osprey and other birds will use fishing line in their nests, creating a hazard for their nestlings~

While playing bubbles in our yard, India fell and got a boo boo on her knee. So, we took her to her happy place... The beach! Spending time by the ocean makes everything better. We watched a beautiful sunset and played with the birds. It is Spring break here in Florida, we noticed a lot of trash on our local beach. This makes us a little sad, our little one always picks up her trash (and other people's) and puts it in the trash cans provided. We finished the evening at Starbucks, drinking hot cocoa and chatting about our day. Despite her sore knee, it was a pretty good day.
