We went to walk at Lady Bird Lake, it was damn muddy; the Hermine storm run-off left a mess but in every pile of crap there is a peanut. We found a really cool plastic Adirondek simulated wood chair in a pile of mud, branches and junk. Humped it back to my VDub; stopped by the car wash to hose it down - I'm the proud owner of a piece of furniture for my apartment balcony. Cool eh? Simple joys for simple boys!

A few short days and my visit to a part of the world I've never spent time in begins. It's taken me 50 years to get there, but I've never once set foot in the US, and I'd have never expected starting with somewhere in Texas. I'm off to Austin for the annual SXSW Music, Film & Interactive festival. A true voyage of discovery. See you all from the far side. Keeping it weird...
