Reading and Northern GP38-2 2010 leads the "Good Springer" past Kaytee Products, a bird seed manufacturer and R&N customer. The crew started their day at O-dark-hundred in Port Clinton, with their main responsibility for the day being to spot about a dozen loads for Koppy's Propane at the top of the mountain in Good Spring. They worked the anthracite tipple near Donaldson on the way back, pulling five loads and spotting four empties. They'll yard their train here and return light power to PN with SD40-2 3051.

thank you to the most incredible Rim A-j for inspiring me, and editing this picture

1st September 2011 (Day 244/365)

For this week's Get Pushed round I got challenged by Kaytee aka riekhavoc to something that was completely new to me: "So... your challenge is abstract - literally. take an abstract shot of some normal household item. don't tell us what it is. let us guess." Well, that got me thinking!

Here's my response! I think it may be a little too easy but i won't say anything and will let you guys tell me what you think it is :)

Check out Kaytee's awesome response to her push here!

man i love film

He springs up like a flower and withers away; like a fleeting shadow, he does not endure. Job 14:2

Please, please please please view large.

First day of my 75 Days of Summer Project with Sophia. This photo is also inspired by one of hers. Obviously I love her.

And Marshay as well. I used the remote she bought for me, and it is so much easier than running back and forth. Thank you again, love<3

And I want to thank Rachel, too, for helping me choose this photo. :)

I'm not fully satisfied with this...at all, especially the low quality due to the heavy(yet necessary) crop, but it's just going to have to do.

I've had a rough week and a half.

On Thursday, we got rid of a dear horse. Saturday, we had to take our "special dog," Kaytee/Hope to the pound. Do you remember her story?

And then Yesterday, we had to put our old dog down. He was mostly blind and deaf, and he could hardly walk or breathe.

My heart is basically ripped in two and all I want to do is sit under some trees and read.

Two clicks to make me feel a little better.

Not a great photo (shot through two window panes that are not the cleanest) but I wanted to capture my new little friend. I noticed him a couple of weeks ago when he joined my usual gang of sparrows, house finches, juncos, chickadees, and a mated pair of northern cardinals. I feed them KayTee Waste Free Fruit & Nut. Yesterday I purchased some dried meal worms and soaked them. Mr. Robin was out there just now and I opened the back door and chirped at him and told him I had meal worms and set them on the rail and went back inside and he crept over and ate all of them! I do keep a heated birdbath so the birds have some water to drink in the winter and I have noticed him sitting on the birdbath as well. He is a loner. I hope he survives and I plan on aiding that!

Update: February 5, 2026: He is still here. Everyday. Loving his meal worms.

it's been a while woah

time to catch up on streams

i hope you can tell that my skin is gold. it's paint and it took forever to get on/off

this looks nothing like the original. someday i want to be a film genius so i'll never touch photoshop. sometimes i feel like i'm cheating, you know? because anyone can use photoshop, anyone can edit in a lens blur or some extra lighting. i really admire those who have defined style in film, like the dreamy photos by natalie kucken and craig schlewitz.

One night during our week in Florida, there was a huge lightning storm with giant bolts every 30 seconds. At first, I set my camera up on a tripod outside our room and Kaytee was taking the photos (look on her page for one to be posted soon). We kept playing with exposure settings and I finally took this one.

We didn't realize that the lightning bolt appeared to have hit the shoreline until after reviewing the photos at home - or else I would have run down there to look for a fulgurite.

@BBC Bang: This image is of a lightning strike on the Florida shore of the Atlantic Ocean, capturing the energy moving between the storm clouds and the ground.

I tried a levitation for the first time today!

It took me forever to get a good shot, it's hardy than it looks dude.

Im actually really proud of this, and i'm in love with my camera. IN. LOVE.

EDIT: WOAH! Thanks guys! EXPLORE : HIGHEST #223! Thank you so muchh! My first freaking explore! :D!.

i just wanted to say, i don't mind if my photos are posted on tumblr, as long as i'm credited.

A nice trio of GP40's leads train #245 through Chilton on April 22 1985. Today's set includes: 2067-2036-2041. With the work train tucked away in the house track, train #245 hammers the spur to Kaytee seed on it's journey toward Green Bay.

yes, here it is. the start of a 365. I stopped my 52 weeks. I've gotten so bored with it. I feel like this project will definitely expand my creativity with the camera. It will be tough, but i'm up for the challenge.

I've been so absent from flickr.

Its still pretty chilly here, it snowed tuesday night. Also, tuesday I went to Chicago, Illinois for an art trip, it was my first time traveling there and it was really fun. I wish I could travel more, because I really love it.

lately i've been so into The Smiths. They are so memorizing.

This is probably the last scene in a sequence of 15 different shots. But here we see SD10's 551 and 532 getting ready to head back to Milwaukee as train #440, then met the Green Bay to Chilton job with MILW 330 and exchanged cars here in Chilton. Before departing Henry Piotrzkowski and Dick Parduhn wait while their train is put back together. There are a few hoppers on the Chilton Malting lead as well as cars on the siding. Some of these cars were pulled from Kaytee Seed which is located north of the depot. Art made a point to write the names of fellow employees on his images, so I am listing them when available, as it was the hard work and dedication of these people who kept the Milwaukee going even during the worst times. This won't be the last shots of this train that I'll be posting, there are many more. September 30 1980.
