When kayaking on Lake Moraine you need to be careful because tipping over in this water can be deadly. With the water at approximately 40 degree hypothermia can set in fast. They suggest kayaking close to the shore.

Kayaking to and climbing Red Rock Island

Two kayakers paused before leaving sheltered Sharpe Cove and heading out into Northwest Pass.

Kayaking Bodega Bay with Amy yesterday. Found that if we got up to speed and stopped paddling 50 feet in advance and then glided into position, the shorebirds let you get very close (like pelicans). But at about 20 feet, a viral meme seems to reverberate through the crowd very quickly, and the Marbled Godwits all take off suddenly, en masse. I wondered what it must be like to live in their tribe, snacking from the marsh, living with the weather and the tides and the groupthink.

On Cabbage Tree Creek on a still and very sultry Monday morning.

Early morning on the beach and alone a chap drags his kayak into the water. There was something solemn about the ritual.

A load of Kayaks in a trailer at Aberdyfi. I think the colours stood out against the blue sky.

Still teaching myself about the Canon R in West Virginia. I stumbled upon these kayakers unloading their gear for a trip downstream. I raced back to the car to find this suitable location to capture their moments.

Another pov/comp of Washington state's official waterfall. The autumn flow is considerably lower than springtime when it really roars.

The falls doesn't look too tall from here. But it drops 187 feet (57 meters), 17 more than Niagara Falls.

Was hard to believe that a kayaker, Tyler Bradt, intentionally went over the falls in his kayak. Tyler set the world record for the longest falls drop ride. The video of that impressive accomplishment in comment box. Couldn't figure out how to post it in the description...

A second kayaker, Rafael Ortiz, also took the ride 3 years later.

Anybody up to be the third......?

Thanks sincerely for your visits and comments!

A kayak is a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat in which the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle to pull front-to-back on one side and then the other in rotation.
