This little Carolina wren has been hanging around the backyard, staying under the wood pile. A first for me! I hope to take more pics in the next few days.

We took a trip to Acadia NP in Maine back in September for my birthday. We did some hiking (Precipice trail) and of course some photography. One of the places we wanted to visit was the Cobblestone Bridge over the Jordan Stream. It was the first carridge road bridge and is the only bridge made completely of cobblestones in the park. It was just as picturesque as I thought it might be. The stream wasn't as full as I would have liked (although it did make it easier to manouver around) but we did find a few spots that had some running water. Infrared.

Eggs Benedict on crab cakes with ham.
Sunday brunch at the historic Kaufman Tavern is a treat. The old Kaufman Hotel in Zelienople was tragically gutted by fire several years ago. It was fully restored and now houses a popular tavern and restaurant on the main floor with professional offices on the upper floors.

I heard a lot of ‘tweeting’ outside my window yesterday and saw this adult female feeding one of her two fledgling babies. Notice how the finch on the left is trying to push the middle finch’s body out of the way. Exposure was difficult; the babies being in bright sunlight and the female adult in the shade.
Today's weather was unusual; both sunshine and snowflakes falling at the same time! This nuthatch had a great time searching for suet and sunflower seeds

All week, a pair of house wrens have been diligently flying back and forth to their nest, feeding the baby wrens.
This is the small quilt I made for the Wichita Modern Quilt Guild's Robert Kaufman Kona Solids Challenge. We had to use at least 50% of the charm pack they generously provided plus one additional solid.
