Stranger street portrait from Glasgow, Scotland.
Kat was number 31 in my 100 Stranger challenge and my original upload of her was long overdue for a colour rework and re-edit, given so many new techniques learned over the years. The original was captured in June 2015 and it is hard to believe that I took this five and a half years ago!

Ps. on my calibrated monitor the colours look fine but on my two of my mobile devices the orange is a bit glaring, hope it looks perfectly fine for you.

Deze kat en mus zijn geïnspireerd door houten kinderpuzzels. Op eenvoudige en speelse wijze zijn de twee dieren afgebeeld. De stoere en massieve aluminium beelden transformeren de figuren tot een driedimensionaal kijkspel.
De kunstenaar is Jeroen Henneman. Zijn werk kenmerkt zich vooral door een eenvoudige en krachtig vormentaal. Veel van zijn beeldhouwwerken lijken op een tekening in de ruimte. Bekend werk van Henneman is De Schreeuw in Amsterdam en De Kus in Apeldoorn.

History
The windmill De Kat was originally built in 1781.
It is an octagonal mill with a rotating cap and external gallery. Since its restoration and partial rebuild in 1960 it has been fitted out to grind colouring materials.
The mill is located on the River Zaan between the windmills De Zoeker and De Poelenburg, near the Zaanse Schans, where it makes a dominant contribution to the landscape.
A windmill was first set up on this spot around 1646, receiving its permit to use the wind on 11 January 1646, issued to Adriaen Gerritsz. v

"Kat" co-operates and poses for me, The freezing outside temperatures did not appeal so she is content to be indoors today.
Kat was visiting Scotland’s capital from Canada. When I first saw her, she was progressing up the Golden Mile, taking photographs as she went. Kat looked like a great subject for my strangers project, with her green hat.
I noted that Kat was using a Sony 7iii and mentioned that I generally use a Sony alpha camera for my project but that I was on holiday so travelling lighter with a smaller Lumix camera.
The ground had dried from the earlier rain and I asked Kat if she wouldn’t mind sitting on the kerbside for the photo. We were on a pedestrianised road and lots of people were walking up or down. Kat looked a bit puzzled but sat down with me anyway.
Apart from a common interest in photography Kat also shares Polish decent. Although she speaks Polish and I don’t. When it came time for photos, I had to move back as I was a little too close with the 60mm lens on my GX7.
After goodbyes and words of thanks were shared Kat continued to progress up the Golden Mile, photographing the wonders of Edinburgh Old town.
