Stranger street portrait from Glasgow, Scotland.
Kat was number 31 in my 100 Stranger challenge and my original upload of her was long overdue for a colour rework and re-edit, given so many new techniques learned over the years. The original was captured in June 2015 and it is hard to believe that I took this five and a half years ago!

Ps. on my calibrated monitor the colours look fine but on my two of my mobile devices the orange is a bit glaring, hope it looks perfectly fine for you.

Given my love of black and white photography I was astonished to find that I had only edited my shots of Kat in colour. This is a black and white re-edit of Kat, from my 100 Strangers project, from a series of shots originally captured in June 2015. Initial edit in Lightroom followed by some frequency separation editing in Photoshop. Her bright cyan hair and makeup was eye-catching in colour but it also makes for a striking image in black and white. Enjoy!

Deze kat en mus zijn geïnspireerd door houten kinderpuzzels. Op eenvoudige en speelse wijze zijn de twee dieren afgebeeld. De stoere en massieve aluminium beelden transformeren de figuren tot een driedimensionaal kijkspel.

Kat was visiting Scotland’s capital from Canada. When I first saw her, she was progressing up the Golden Mile, taking photographs as she went. Kat looked like a great subject for my strangers project, with her green hat.
I noted that Kat was using a Sony 7iii and mentioned that I generally use a Sony alpha camera for my project but that I was on holiday so travelling lighter with a smaller Lumix camera.
The ground had dried from the earlier rain and I asked Kat if she wouldn’t mind sitting on the kerbside for the photo. We were on a pedestrianised road and lots of people were walking up or down. Kat looked a bit puzzled but sat down with me anyway.
Apart from a common interest in photography Kat also shares Polish decent. Although she speaks Polish and I don’t. When it came time for photos, I had to move back as I was a little too close with the 60mm lens on my GX7.
After goodbyes and words of thanks were shared Kat continued to progress up the Golden Mile, photographing the wonders of Edinburgh Old town.

Een vaste bezoeker van de Zoo, zijn thuis is in een van de huizen achter de tuin.
A daily visitor of the zoo, living in one of the houses behind the zoo.
Duo à la scène, couple à la ville, KAT & ACTION, nés tous les deux en 1985, se sont rencontrés autour de la peinture.
Von 1981 bis 1995 gab es bei uns schon einmal einen Kater mit den Namen "Jonas" Im Gegensatz zu meinem Jonas konnte er richtig böse werden. Wenn er wie hier auf dem eigescannten Foto auf dem Bett lag, traute sich niemand ihm herunter zu nehmen um das Bett zu machen. Er ließ sich erst streicheln und dann hat er ganz plötzlich gekratzt und gebissen, oft so, dass man zum Arzt musste. Trotzdem haben wir ihn sehr geliebt und die Trauer war groß, als er wegen Nierenversagen eingeschläfert werden musste.
