Ex German Navy frigate Karlsruhe, laid up at Kiel Naval Arsenal in Kiel, Germany.
Karlsruhe is one of eight Bremen class frigates built for the (West) German Navy in the 1980s. In the context of the Cold War, these ships were primarily designed for anti-submarine warfare and convoy escorts. However, after 1990, the frigates would be used in quite a different role, being frequently deployed in NATO, EU and UN operations in the Mediterrenean and the Red Sea. Karlsruhe was decomissioned in 2017 and is now laid up at Kiel, awaiting her fate to be sunk as a target.

Classic Duewag tram in the centre of the elegant city of Karlsruhe. In 2007 these cars still ran on one route and mixed in the city centre with more modern city trams and stadtbahn interurban cars that had come from far and wide.
