This picture was taken while we were trekking along the wakhan border of pakistan. Just a few hours trek can lead you to Wakhan, Afghanistan. Broghil with its vast landscape and many small magnifescent lakes is like a paradise for trekkers. This specific place is called Garil Valley having very kind hosts and 'a mehmaan saraye' for the guests.
Kurumi wanted to make some hand shadows today. In the end, she managed to make some kind of bird ^^U

This beautiful amazingly blue lake lies just near border Pakistan where it meets Wakhan. This lake is the highest one in Pakistan and 10th highest in the world. The lake is quite long and almost unexplored not many locals (as we met all the foreighners during the trek) go for this trek. The reasons include a very minor information is available for the trek and not many tour organizers arrange Pamir-Wakhan tours. As said by a group of travellers this is the best trek they had ever done and were attempting it for the fifth time!!!
Our experience was amazing... we left Karachi in love of this lake after reading the famous 'Yak Sayraye'. Believe me gathering information was really tough and as i was leading my group of 4 not-much-seasoned trekkers i had to work very hard before we left the last civilized town of Ishkoman (Imit). But in my opinion on these mountainous heights, uncivilized valleys and uncertain glaciers desperation can be the best leader and it remained untill we found this 'bluest' destination! The first sight just leaves you saying.......' Subhan Allah' [............what else :) ]

Swinje Valley is among the most unkown and heavenly beautiful valleys of Pakistan. On Sokhtarabad terminal where Ishkoman Valley ends lies a giant glacier 'Chitti Boui' that challenges adventure lovers and only those can witness the splendid beauty of Swinje Valley.
The first ever sight of Swinje Valley might not attract you a lot...but a little further trekking in Pamirs will take you to some extremely beautiful sights, the never ending green beds, awesome wild flowers and blue streams.
This lake lies in northern areas of Pakistan and is said to be the most beautiful lake in Kaghan Valley which already have a lot of other beautiful lakes in its vicinity....
The most interesting thing about this lake is its trail....6 hours hike from the last jeepable point called Besar...keep on trekking along the stream called 'Purbi Narh' and you will reach the lake...during this trail one comes across a lot of amazing landscapes and natural sceneries that would keep lasting long after the time is gone....and will keep you refreshing.....
Local word 'Chitti Boui' means 'Glaceir with Huge cravesses'!
This glacier is sandwiched between Pamir and Hindukush ranges. As said by locals there came a large flood some 100 years back and stuck in between these ranges and got frozen... Allah knows better.
It is a dangerous glacier as expected but I had always thought our porter guide would know some easier way to cross this glacial monster... But here we had huge cravesses with a big glacial lake in front of us no way! Our guide was looking for the path which he had followed last time but he couldnt rememeber! It was already 5 in the evening and in no time we were to meet the night...to the most amazement we had no glacial night gear with us!

After a full day medium-tough trek (tough becasue of a very low Oxygen level) the trekker is able to witness some unforgettable scenes of nature.
This is called 'Ansoo Jheel'. Word 'Ansoo' is urdu translation of 'Tear' used to describe the shape of this gorgeous lake.
Only those who have trekked in mountains can understand what mystery does these mountains reveal while you came across any peak...
A fairy tale is attached to this lake.....makes it mysterious...this is the picture which I took in Jun 2003 on my university trip.....
Architecturally unique, this Jami mosque is distinct in its layout as well as in its materials. It is the first mosque in this region to be constructed according to the principles of Mughal courtyard architecture. Atypical of mosques, this building is elongated along the east-west rather than the usual north-south axis. Red brick is utilized rather than the pink sandstone and marble more commonly associated with Mughal buildings. Quite likely, the decision to use brick was made out of practical concerns of cost and availability, since Thatta does not have much stone. The surfaces are decorated with glazed tiles.
The mosque was commissioned by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a gesture of gratitude to the people of Thatta for sheltering him during his youth after his father Emperor Jahangir banished him from Delhi. Several Persian inscriptions on site date the foundation of the mosque to 1644 and its completion to 1647. The floor was paved with stone in 1657. Repair work done during the seventies by the Endowment (Awqaf) Department added a garden to the eastern side.

Saw this T-Shirt. Any Karachite who has ever lived in karachi and used public transport system can relate to most of the names on this T-Shirt and the mini bus as well.
Lake Lulusar is called the main source of famouse river Kunhar....its the deepest one in Kaghan Valley according to locals... surrounded by bare mountains its all greenish blue..... and spread upto a few miles..... This was a small green patch and we decided to go down as unfortunately this was the only interesting view of the lake...getting down to the lake was a tough task... You get this part of lake coming from Babusar to Besar.
Pilot officer Rashid minhas was the youngest recipient of Nishan-e-Haider he was 20 years old.Minhas was on a routine training flight when his trainer forced him to flew the plain to India but he refused to do so and sacrificed for great cause. Rashid minhas trainer Mati-ur-rehman who was trying to hijack the plane was a Bengali who buried in Pakistan and recently Pakistani government returned his remaining to Bangladesh. In Bangladesh rehman was awarded Bangladesh’s highest award Bir Sreshtho.In Karachi most of Karachite dont know where our War hero is buried. He is buried in Army graveyard behind shara-e-faisal near CSD.
During Visit May-2013 morning I noticed the beautiful canal (BRB Canal) surrounded by lush green trees. It was an amazing sight to experience with where I could inhale a gust of fresh air — I kept gazing that soothing sight until the smoothly flowing Lahore canal ended.
But today I could not resist to share the same yet different image of the city canal which has turned into a Free Desi Swimming Pool.
Regardless of health, safety and environment issue hundreds of Lahoris thronged this canal to beat the heat. As a Karachite its an unusual scene to me yet I can imagine Punjabs sizzling heat supported by unlimited load shedding.
After looking at the “Zinda dilan e Lahore” — I have nothing left to say except “Lor Lor Ae”
It was my first day of training and FORTUNATELY i missed my stop ;)
..... the training had to start at 8:15 and here i was at some unknown place waiting for another train to travel back.... But 'jo hota hai achche ke liye hota hai'.... because it was the soolest place i saw in Munich... with much peace, colorful scenery and unspoiled nature i called it the most captivating place around munich!
