The Kano school was the longest lived and most influential school of painting in Japanese history; its more than 300-year prominence is unique in world art history.
That was a difficult task trying to capture them in those dark conditions. Did not use a flash, nor a tripod ;-)
To my surprise, I ended up lightening the sky. And that looks more natural than the original.
One of the old waterproof compacts - probably the Nikon, maybe the later Konica.

< = Kano rune. Esoteric interpretation of the Kano rune: controlled fire, cremation, internal fire and inflammation. Corresponds to the letter K and the number 6. Kano resembles a flame, an open mouth, an arrow, a notch or a torch. Kano is also a rune of regenerative power, a rune of artisans and artists. Connects to past generations. The Kano rune is dedicated to the Viking Aesir/Vanir Goddess Freya. Kenaz/Kano is about learning from each other and opening up to pure truth and honesty.
