Kanchenjunga is a mountain peak in the Himalayas. It is the third highest peak in the world after Mount Everest and K2 with a height of 6,58 meters. It is located on the eastern border of Nepal with the Indian state of Sikkim. This part of the Himalayas is called Kanchenjunga Himalayas.

Pelling is a hill station that offers close-up views of Kanchenjunga and the Himalayan peaks. As you drive from Gangtok to Pelling, you can see the mountain getting closer and clearer. Pelling is nestled at an altitude of 2,150 m (7,050 ft).

Our visit to Bhutan involved a Druk Air flight from Kolkata, India to Paro, Bhutan. The flight itself was an adventure, our Airbus A319 heading north towards the Himalayas, before turning eastward to find the descent path down into the Paro Chhu valley. In this frame we're on the eastward leg with a fine view of Mt Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest mountain (8,586 m)
