The only conifer native to Eurasia (including Britain) North America and North Africa. In Britain it is a scarce plant of chalk scarps and open moorland.

These are juniper berries .. attached to a juniper tree. I hate them, they are ugly and get pitch everywhere. Buut, when it rains, it smells amazing.

This bushy little plant with tiny white flowers is coming up all over my yard. I could not ID it, but saw it in a friend's photos here on Flickr. Flowers are about 3 mm across.

I love organic designs, they give a piece of jewelry this earthy, comforting feel. I thought of juniper berries when making this ring. They are of such beautiful dark blueish black color.
I melted silver globs to silver wire to create a berries on a branch look. The oxidized finish produces such a nice contrast to the white color of the silver.
I'm partial to hairstreaks, and this one's perhaps my favorite. One of the cool things about it is that the green color varies, and it also looks different under different lighting. The name comes from the fact that it feeds on Eastern Red Cedar (actually a juniper) as a caterpillar. Some also call it the Olive Hairstreak.
An Alligator juniper on the Tejas Trail above the Pine Springs trailhead in the Guadalupe Mountains.
These trees get their name from the fact that their bark looks like an alligator's skin. They are huge for a juniper.

Juniper is an independent cat who is happiest on her own-stalking mice and exploring. A gorgeous cat she would be a fine addition to a house that wanted a cat who can keep themselves entertained.
