Some sitting by the fire with a good book while the dog snores softly beside me time coming right up.
Did some yard work and cleaned up around my little tree
I was also careful not to wreck a new growth Juniper (indicated by the red arrow) as well
ill have to transplant that soon .
Although juniper is a native plant, fire suppression and other factors have allowed this tree to expand to sites it never occupied historically.

A small spring infeeder to Juniper Creek. You can see the that the creek has picked up some tannins at this point, the spring is very clear compared.
I love this ornamental thyme, which does indeed resemble a shrubby juniper, even taking on a bluish tint.
almost solid juniper berry superwash merino dyed by amy. gauging (just now while uploading the pictures actually) and it's working up to 4.5 st/1" on a size 8 needle. lots more fiber if I need it.

She is the Wild Child of the shelter.
Juniper is an independent cat who is happiest on her own-stalking mice and exploring. A gorgeous cat she would be a fine addition to a house that wanted a cat who can keep themselves entertained.

got this little tree 2 seasons ago and planted it in the ground , it got so full of new growth i decided to thin it and do some preliminary branch selection and put it in a pot,, grown from a seedling, real happy with its progress

Sierra Juniper (The poor man's Bristlecone.) above Meiss Lake Trailhead, Eldorado County, California. We were camped in the excellent free camping near Woods Lake when we noticed a decent looking sunset coming on. We jumped in the car, made the short drive to the trailhead, and charged up the hill until our full stomachs and the 9,000' elevation made it clear that might not be such a good idea. Anyway, the sunset ended up being just ok, but we did get real close to a still in velvet buck and stayed til dark shooting some of the gnarled Junipers.

"Twisted Juniper Nirvana" There is nothing like night photography, and in the high deserts of Colorado, Utah, and Arizona it is an amazing experience. While shooting at night comes with it's own set of difficulties, it also comes with great rewards at the end of the day... The hike in and out of the twisted junipers in the dark can be pretty treacherous, but fun and exciting at the same time. The stars and constellations help light the way even on some of the darkest of nights, and the twisted forms and shadows lend to the eerie yet peaceful surroundings.... Nirvana.... Not to be confused with the band Nirvana, although they are pretty badass too :) Shares, follows, and friendships are appreciated.
